It's hard to believe that we are into another new year-2019! CRAZY!!!Perfect time though to take a peak at what 2018 had to offer in Mason County as far as real estate and how things went! Below is a great graph that shows Mason County's 2018 Real Estate Stats and Trends.  Mason County's 2018 Real Estate stats and trends showed it to be quite brisk in a flurry of activity of Buyers trying to find just the right home and Sellers trying to get the highest rate of return. Housing inventory for sale was quite low in Mason County in 2018 following the same trend in other counties.... We did start to see an increase in housing inventory towards the end of the year, but certain price ranges remained a strong Sellers' market. I was asked yesterday at #BelfairWindermere, “On Hood Canal, what is the cost per linear foot of waterfront?” This is the old-school way of determining the value of a beachfront property. It worked well for a while when most houses were similar and vacant land when available, but both of those conditions have changed. The number for years was $5000 per foot but for those who still like to know, here is the calculation.On the horizontal section of Hood Canal, that part beyond the Big Bend, we sold 32 homes. The Hoods Canal Spot Shrimp sport season generally opens during the month of May with clear blue skies and majestic Olympic Mountain views. This has lured the sportsmen and ladies out like only Hood Canal can. With baited and set pots the fishermen awaited the first easy limit. By 10:00 am the first shrimp are in the cooler . . Still, limits (80 shrimp/person). This is truly one fishing activity that the boater and crew need to be prepared for and not have any impaired senses.DEPTH: Didn't matter the first opening, 200-230 ft worked well and was supported by local knowledge. Casper’s Pizza & BBQ, Belfair, Washington I was in Belfair Friday afternoon on February 21st for a company event with my state manager. We arrived a little ahead of schedule and were starving. I’m not from around these parts so I did my social media mobile thing and checked out all the restaurants in the area and Casper’s kept showing up and with favorable reviews. I had the barbequed chicken breast with corn bread. Yum! The chicken breast was done just right and their homemade BBQ sauce is absolutely wonderful! They should bottle it and sell it. The sauce has a nice smoky bright notes with a nice tangyness to it. I love a good BBQ sauce, yet most are too sweet for me. Also the cornbread is homemade and super fresh. Here are a few points synopsized from a recent Coldwell Banker Danforth memo to clarify the requirements: As of April 1, 2012, sellers of OWNER OCCUPIED single family homes, condos and mobile homes must install carbon monoxide alarms prior to closing. Homes that have electric heat are not exempt. Homes without attached garages are not exempt. The Faith in Action Belfair Senior Center is one step closer. On Monday, the State of Washington House of Representatives rolled out its two-year capital-spending plan.  The House Capital Budget Committee hearing on Proposed Substitute House Bill 1497 included several projects like the Belfair Senior Center here in North Mason County – some of which did not get help from Gov.
