It's Blueberry Time! I love this time of year again when the blueberry bushes are bursting forth with indigo goodness. I love spending the morning picking berries with the family and although it's about 90 (hello, didn't I just LEAVE this weather?) we are having a great time and are picking fast to get in under the shady tent.  Since my backyard was a jungle when I returned to it just 2 weeks ago today, I bought a blueberry bush to replace the one that misteriously dissapeared in our absence.  Seriously, these berries are huge and after we came home with over 10 pounds of juiciness I was welcomed by my box of good from the nearby organic farm that I missed so terribly. What is it about the Pacific Northwest? The freshness, the water, the mountains? It's all part of the charm and I am gi...

Purrfect Pals - A Cat's best friend! I love cats. If I wasn't married I be the crazy cat lady but I prefer being married to being a cat lady so alas I am blessed with only one. I have had 4 cats in my life and each one has meant the world. I have never paid for a cat and don't believe in paying hundreds for an animal when there are so many "mutts" that need good homes. Several years ago I had to let my beautiful Himalayan go after some internal issues. I thought I could do a while without having a cat until my husband shocked the heck out of me one day and said, "you seem happier with a cat in the house, why don't you go get one" ... WHAT? This is from the guy that only likes dogs.  Well, with that approval I didn't waste any time and headed to the local shelter - Purrfect Pals in Arlin...

Out in the Country Arlington WashingtonWe were asked to price a home way out in the country. The address was Arlington Washington. But actually, I had to go to Granite Falls, then continue north from there. This is a newer home, and it sits on 2.5 level acres. In order to get back to the office on time, I left early in the morning. When I got there, it was still foggy. The dogs were all barking.I took my pictures and left, back to the home office where the rest of the team were hard at work doing data entry and research to find the appropriate price to give the bank.On this home out in the  country, Arlington Washington.

Last Saturday, we picked up the first of what will be many baskets of amazing fruits and vegetables from the Bountiful Baskets Food Co-op. I've always wanted to try a CSA but never seemed to actually get around to doing it.  I ran across Bountiful Baskets online and it was just too easy not to do!  All of the ordering is handled online and just took a few minutes to setup.  I placed my order, printed the receipt and then drove to the pick up site on Saturday to get my basket!  Since it was the first, of course we totally went overboard and ordered two baskets - one organic and one conventional. Both baskets are half fruits and half veggies.  The organic basket is 100% organic.  While contents can vary from week to week, it's mostly just normal produce items you would find in the grocery...
