I am a huge reader and never thought I would give up books for a Kindle/Nook/e-reader but I am officially in love with my Kindle App on my iPad.  I read so much and generally got books from yard sales, library books sales and used book stores because I would have been broke if I had paid "list price."  Then I discovered that I can CHECK EBOOKS OUT FROM MY LIBRARY!! ....Sorry for shouting but I get very excited about free stuff!   At my local Powhatan County Library I can check out books from the Blue Ridge Consortium, Freading which is an app for your iPad and my son and I love the books from TumbleBooks.  They have storybooks that are read out loud with moving pictures.  The words being read are highlighted so your child can follow along.  Nathaniel just turned 6 and we spent about 2 ... 11/21/2012

Powhatan County Library is having a Book Sale!  Very few things make my heart go pitter pat like the words "Library Book Sale."  I am a huge reader and love to have my bookshelves overflowing.  The stager in me tries to make the shelves look nice, but the reader tends to trump that and I have a ton a books stacked up high. The sale is 9-5 on the 27th of April and 10-3 on Saturday April 28th. Saturday is also $5 for a bag of books!  You can't beat that! Number of Homes sold in Powhatan County There was  an increase in total units sold in December, with 31 sold this month in Powhatan County versus 28 last month, an increase of 11%. This month's total units sold was higher than at this time last year, an increase of 29% versus December 2010.    Amount of Homes listed for sale in Powhatan County Versus last year, the total number of homes available this month is lower by 28 units or 12%. The total number of active inventory this December was 203 compared to 231 in December 2010. The Miller Family of Powhatan Virginia has been facing more heartbreak than any family should ever have to.  The mother has terminal cancer and may not survive to spend another Christmas with her young son and the father is out of work.  After paying their mortgage for the past 28 years, they had fallen behind on their mortgage payments and their home was facing foreclosure.  Their furnace was broken and with no money to fix it, the family was living in their garage, trying to stay warm.
