I showed a rental home today to a single, military officer with 2 dogs. The house is large, has a nice flat back yard where he can do a fence for his dogs and is 5 minutes from his office. While we were walking around the property, he mentioned his military housing allowance was only $1200 and my property rent was $1,395. When I asked him where the $1,200 home was, he indicated in the CITY and it was SMALLER......the City has much higher utility rates because they are having to finance improvements to their water/sewer/gas systems via consumer fees. Additionally, the property is 15 to 20 minutes from his work. The property I was showing him was 5 minutes from his office and in an adjoining county with private water service that is much more "consumer-friendly" for usage fees AND rat...
