Self-Guided Powhatan Agri-Entrepreneurship Farm Tour - Six Properties Will Be Open Saturday - September 13th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m  Farm operators will be on hand and will make presentations on the hour and half-hour. A beautiful place to walk, hike, fish, or hunt. The Powhatan Wildlife Management Area is 25 miles west of Richmond with many convenient access points reached from U.S. Route 60. The 4462-acre Powhatan Wildlife Management Area provides a haven for outdoors enthusiasts near an expanding metropolitan area. The area's landscape of old fields, cultivated areas for habitat enhancement, wood lots and lakes provide for a diversity of wildlife species. The area has numerous easily accessible parking areas around its perimeter and at the lakes. Come and celebrate the holiday weekend with the annual Powhatan Labor Day Parade. Bring your lawn chairs and grab a good spot along Old Buckingham Rd. The parade route runs through the downtown courthouse area. Powhatan Labor Day Parade Monday September 1st, 2008. Parade begins at 11am. Get there a little early to avoid traffic and to reserve a nice viewing location. Happy Labor Day!
