Catch Them When They Drive UP! Nothing means more than a first impression! It an emotional experience-if you don't make the most of it you are missing a golden opportunity!  No matter how hard you try, if the first impression isn't favorable, you might not get them in the door. I can't begin to tell you the number of prospects I've had who wouldn't even get out of the car because of an unfavorable first impression. Nothing else matters if they won't get out of the car! None of your efforts to improve the inside will mean much. Now how to make sure you make a lasting favorable first impression?    Make sure front entry is buyer friendly. Bikes out front? Dogs or pets by the front door? Peeling paint on the front door?,  Tall grass? Leaves that need raking? Dirty windows? Un-kempt yard? ...

Lynchburg Airport Turnaround!Lynchburg Airport saw it's best results since the year 2000. Airport Director Mark F. Courtney says 14,517 people flew out of Lynchburg last month.  He says that's the best showing since the decline in airport levels and demand precipitated by the 9-11 terrorist attacks. He says then  increase to new services offered at the airport.  Two additional daily flights were recently added by Delta Connection and US Airways Express.  The airport also successfully lobbied its airlines to lower rates for Lynchburg flights last fall.   A fifth US Airways flight is being added May 28th, bringing Lynchburg's total daily departure number to eight. April traffic represented a 97 percent overall increase above passenger numbers for the same month in 2008.My opinion is that...

We Don't Want to Lose You! SAVE LIVES ...    It is important to always have ASPIRIN in the home, in your purse or pocket,l especially if you are over 60!!! Why ? ABOUT HEART ATTACKS There are other symptoms of an heart attack besides the pain on the left arm. One must also be aware of an intense pain on the chin, as well as nausea and lots of sweating, however these symptoms may also occur less frequently. NOTE : There may be no pain in the chest during an heart attack, especially om women. The majority of people (about 60%) who had an heart attack during their sleep, did not wake up. However, if it occurs, the chest pain may wake you up from your deep sleep. If that happens, IMMEDIATELY DISSOLVE THREE BABY NON COATED ASPIRINS IN YOUR MOUTH and swallow them with a bit of water.  Afterw...

Finally some good news to report. Mortgage rates, 30 year fixed, started the month about 5.0% and have ended just a little lower about 4-8 or 4.9% range. This week saw a drop of just a smiggon, that's good news for consumers, but don't expect the rates to stay this low unless the economy tanks further. Projections are that we are at the low in the cycle. There are signs that the real estate market is picking up over much of the country.  Normally in prime season which starts in April and ends the end of July. Properties under $200,000 continue to be the bulk of the sales. Average days on the market dropped to 151 from  March's number of 266.   There were 151 sales in April vs 199 last year in 2008, however the number of sales reported has gone up since March for the first time in recent...

Well you've come to the right place. There are some things you are going to need to line up before you buy here in the US. 1. Establish credit before you get here preferably a year if possible. Take out a credit card or two at a bank that has a US relationship, make sure you pay on time and ask for your credit report in English before you get here. Make sure you have the address of where the credit agency is located in your home country. The banks want to see  you have 6 months of mortgage and maintenance plus the closing cost coming out of the same account.2. A good rule of thumb is you are probably going to need a job or enough cash to know you can support yourself, passport, permanent visa, checking account and social security card. Make sure these are lined up either before you get...

Downtown Lynchburg Virginia has been in the middle of a revitalization for a while.  Recently though with the influx of new business and arts and entertainment in the area it has been exciting to see the plans come to fruition.  I went downtown yesterday accompanied by my little sister and got caught up in the changes.  It is great to see how care is taken to blend the old with the new.  I've lived in the area now since 1988.  When I first moved here I would not have had the opportunity to take any great pictures nor would there be much to write about. I hope you take sometime to check out what is going on downtown.

The most popular advertised Free Credit Reports are not free. I recommend to my Lynchburg area buyers that they get their credit reports and view for accuracy before they begin looking. Why is this important?Every time someone else pulls your credit report, your score goes down. Pull your own, view to make sure all information is correct and take a copy with you to your lender so they do not have to pull.In 2003  The Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA), allowed all Americans to get  one free credit report from each of the three major credit reporting agencies - Equifax, Experian and TransUnion - every 12 months. Here are truely free resources: AnnualCreditReport.com Telephone: (877)-322-8228 By mail: complete the Annual Credit Report Request form and mail it to: Annual Cred...

Two new Amtrak trains will start service in Lynchburg on Oct. 1, and in Richmond on Dec. 15. The rail company expects that over 50,000 will use the train service going between DC and Lynchburg, VA. Over 42,000 are expected to use the Richmond, VA train. Lynchburg would then have two round trip trains a day. There has been speculation that Lynchburg might one day be a hub for trains heading south, but this step appears to just the first in what may or may not be progress toward that end.The train service in Lynchburg will be from the downtown station, Kemper St leaving around 7:45am and reach Union Station in DC about 11:30am. In what is a very welcome announcement, Lynchburg officals have announced that they have found money expected from the federal stimulus plan for a new park, named "Ivy Creek Park", formally home to a private retreat. They are currently planning this park in the Lynchpin Industrial Area, the first new park in many years in an area void of parks. The expected park will be located at the end of Jefferson Ridge Parkway, a road adjoining Sheetz on rt 221. What is not clear from the announcement is the availability of other access points other than the one road currently going in. The park will consist of 29 acres and will cost over $2 million to develop. The park will have a six-acre spring fed lake, play area with climbing wall, fishing, handicap accessible pier, trails and gardens and may ...
