Hello all, it's Aimee blogging on behalf of Kline May Realty and our family agents. As you may have noticed, we took a break from the Staycation posts last week, but we're back in full force this week. It may be another couple weeks before the follow-up post about the North Augusta Farmers Market goes up; however, I'm writing today, Tuesday June 25th (I know it's Wednesday, but we'll pretend!), with not one but THREE ideas for things to do this summer--and they're delicious and fun. Shenandoah National Park is a short drive away for many of us (between 20-45 minutes), and depending on where you live in the area, Skyland Resort in Luray, Virginia, is even closer. So if you're craving mountain fun and yummy food, you're in luck...but you have to wait...at least a little while.Image courte...

Virginia is full of natural and manmade wonders! From the Natural Bridge to Smith Mountain Lake, there is no end to all the wonderful things to see and do in Virginia. Nestled in the Shenandoah National Park, north of Roanoke, is Luray Caverns. Discovered in 1878, the Luray Caverns are breathtaking! Rock formations "sing" and bridal veils, the formations are as amazing as the day they were discovered! It all started with a sink hole. A gust of air from a limestone sinkhole blew out a candle held by Andrew Campbell as he and friends were looking for caves in the area. What they ended up discovering was the largest series of caverns on the East. Purchasing the land at public auction, the men began to prepare the cave for visitors. The rest is history! In 1880 The Smithsonian Institution s...

Shenandoah National Park is absolutely gorgeous... it lies along a beautiful section of the Blue Ridge Mountains between Pennsylvania and Georgia. Skyline Drive, a  105-mile road that winds along the crest of the mountains through the length of the park, provides vistas of the spectacular landscape to east and west. The park holds more than 500 miles of trails, including 101 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Trails may follow a ridge crest, or they may lead to high places with panoramic views or to waterfalls in deep canyons. There are four entrances to the park, located at 66 and route 340, in Front Royal, and Route 211 leads to the central entrance at Thornton Gap, Route 33 to swift run gap, and i64 to the rockfish gap, the southern entrance, and the northern entrance at blue ridge park...
