I have always wanted to do this Haunted Buffer Dinner at the Green Tree Restaurant, but never had a chance since my daughters were off trick-or-treating while my husband and I remained home to welcome our halloween guests.   This event, according to reports, is "not recommended for the faint of heart!  It, supposedly, is the scarest tour in the D.C. area.                                                                                                  It begins with the Cornfield Maze, just outside of Leesburg on Route 15 North.  The largest and most legendary maze in the world!  Normal admission is $10, free under 5 years of age.  You will then drive yourself to the Green Tree Restaurant, which originally opened in the 18th century. here, you will be offerd a menu which reflects recipes... 09/22/2009

LEESBURG BIKING AND HIKING TRAIL.  BONDING IN TANDEM. If I had to describe my very favorite outdoor scene viewed in my many miles of touring towns and cities in my real estate market area, my very favorite is the below.  DADs know. . . . . .                        THE W & OD BIKING AND HIKING TRAIL always has walkers, bikers, runners, hikers, strollers and other folks enjoying the trail and the sites along the trail.  While driving Catoctin Circle Saturday, I spotted this tandem bike while stopped for the red light that permits folks on the trail to cross streets in Leesburg.  Red light for me meant green light for this pair on a tamdem bike with a full sized bike in the lead and child sized follow up.  Both were pumping furiously and going moving along at a good rate which I estimated ... 09/20/2009

                                      LENN HAD AN ADVENTURE BUYING A SEWING MACHINE SHOPPING FOR A SEWING MACHINE IN LEESBURG VIRGINIA.  A STITCH IN TIME AND THE JEANS WILL FIT. A PREDICAMENT WITH WHICH MANY WOMEN and a few men WILL IDENTIFY is. . . . They just don't make jeans to fit me.  A matter with which I've always struggled is that "off the rack" clothes rarely really fit.  We just make do.  What's the problem, you ask??  HA!  If the waist fits, the hips do not.  If the hips fit, the waist does not.  Further, if the hips fit, the "straight leg jeans" are no longer straight, they are baggy.  WHAT'S THE SOLUTION?  Get a sewing machine and alter the dang things!   So, I did.  However, although I sewed a lot many years ago, I haven't for years and it was like a new adventure.  For on... 09/10/2009

First Friday events are held in downtown Leesburg on the first Friday of each month. On these nights, 35 different specialty shops and businesses stay open until 9:30 offering various types of entertainment.Each month, scheduled entertainment is posted at http://www.firstfriday.com/. The entertainment varies, but usually includes many choices for art galleries, live music, wine tastings and more. In August, my husband and I went and took the kids (ages 3 and 6). We grabbed a light dinner at the historic Georgetown Cafe and headed to the Last Ham Standing, a regulary scheduled monthly improv comedy show at Tally Ho Theatre...and yes, it is family friendly. With all the local summer camp options in Loudoun, it's nice for kids to try various activities. It keeps the summer interesting and keeps them constantly learning, sampling different activities that may (or may not) be of longer term interest to them. After horseback riding camp, I enrolled my 6 year old daughter (Rachael) in a Cheerleading Camp with DMB Sports, which was held at the National Conference Center on the east side of Leesburg. The first day, Rachael was a little apprehensive since she didn't know anyone there, but she quickly made new friends, and found a few kids that she knew from other local activities.               Spotlight on Leesburg  One thing high on my daughter's priority list before leaving for her first year at college was to care of this "growth" that came, believe it or not, from getting her eyebrows waxed at a nail salon.  Apparently they had the wax too hot which burned the delicate skin on her brow. As time passed, she noticed a bump forming.  Now two years later, she demanded to have it removed before she went off to college.
