We occasionally hear about "strategically walking away from your mortgage"; basically a scenario where you can pay, but because you owe more on your mortgage than the house is worth, you decide to throw in the towel. I have always been against this. This is America; risk big, win big. Risk big, lose big. The chips fall both ways.    Whether you have a small or large yard, a pond can add a beautiful tranquil area to any yard.  I have two ponds in my yard.  Ponds are easy to care for.  They do require maintenance and yearly cleaning.  To install a pond, you can dig and line the pond with pond liner or you can purchase the already molded types and either dig to install or make a built in enclosure for the hard pond liner.  We have one pond dug with a pond liner (9' x 12') and one pond with a hard liner (4' x 8') which is built in under our deck steps.  Once you have the pond lined, rocks placed, water falls installed (I recommend using pond foam to create your waterfalls), you'll need a pond pump and filter system.  I've gone through many, many pumps and the best and cheapest one I found was at Harbor Freight Tools... 08/07/2010
