I had the opportunity to get a picture of Starvation Reservoir near Duchesne, Utah. It got it,s name because a rancher tried to raise cattle in this area and they all starved. In 1970 the reservoir was built and now there is more irrigation water to that area. If you enjoy fishing for wall eye and small mouthed bass this is the place to go. The area also is great for swimming, water skiing, boating, sailing, camping. It is about an hour from Vernal coming from the east side of the state, or 2 hours from Salt Lake coming from the west side of the state.     Here is a new picture to help you see part of the size of the reservoir. You can not see the end in this picture and it also extends behind me farther than you can see if I took a picture of that side.

Just arrived home from the Camelot Resort, which is located just outside of Fruitland Utah.  Here is the website link for Camelot Resorts. Our extended family on my wife's side spent the last three days there, great environment for kids and families. Fantastic facility and the owners are very friendly as well. We had 40 family members there and it didn't cost more then $1400 dollars to rent out the main lodge for two nights.  The resort is withing 20 minutes of starvation reservoir, and 25 minutes from Strawberry reservoir.  So if you like to water ski or fish this is the place!  The rock formations that surround this property are simply stunning, the fresh air and amazing scenery are fantastic. The best part was how close it was to the Wasatch front.  Only an hour and fourty five minut...

Even though the sun is shining, and the air is getting warmer there is still ice on Strawberry Reservoir. Here is a picture taken last week as the sun was setting. Strawberry Reservoir is located thirty miles from Heber, Utah. It was built in 1922. and is currently has a surface area of 17,164 acres. It is a great area for many recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and snowmobiling.
