Have an Eggstra Special Day! As you gather today for Easter, take some time to share favorite memories with your peeps. Snap plenty of pictures, swap your best stories and if you're heading to someone’s home, bring an extra-special, homemade dish. Connection is the golden thread that ties all relationships together, whether with the best of friends or cherished partners. Kate McGahan said it best: “The very first Easter taught us that life never ends and love never dies.” However you choose to spend this sunny day, appreciate those around you, hold close what truly matters and allow gratitude to fill your heart with love. Let it grow and bloom like the vibrant colors of spring's blooming flowers. Happy Easter to you and yours!  Photo by: Wanda

"Your price point isn't high enough for me." Apparently, the real estate agent simply decided that the target price was beneath him, thinking more of luxury brands than the well-prepared buyer, whose almost-perfect credit score was 836.  He never pulled any properties to show, ended up quickly waving the woman to the front door of the office. The experience was so inconsequential to his everyday that even when reminding him about that past conversation, he had an immediate amnesiatic response. That ready, willing and able buyer went on to purchase a FSBO property that perfectly fit the lifestyle of a single mother with two small children. The next peasant who's dismissed may be the one who quietly builds a beautiful, successful life. That buyer was me. He showed me that some agents put ...

Nerdin Gardens: Because Murder is Wrong In a high desert town, just north of St. George, Utah, where the sun shines more days than not, lived a couple who've been passionate gardeners for more than 25 years. Theirs is no ordinary patch.  Colorful Hollyhocks stand eight feet tall, their blooms holding captive admirers. Tomatoes ripen blood-red on hanging vines. Basil grows thick enough to hide beneath. Cucumbers reach for full potential.  Past experience means understanding that successful gardening demands taking precautions like ridding harmful pests before they are given a chance to wreak havoc. Patience and order rules their days. While visiting the local farmer’s market one Sunday, they found several metal signs that heartily reflected their passion. One said: GARDENING BECAUSE MURDE...

The Perfect Oozey-Gooey Egg Sammich! A specialty in our household is a homemade egg and cheese breakfast sammich. First, you take sourdough bread and toast it togolden brown. Meanwhile, take two eggs, crack, then place in heated up pan with melted butter. Cook until easy over, the yolks will still be runny but whites throughly cooked. No squigglies. Take a couple of slices of swiss, cheddar, Colby, whatever you like best and lay over the eggs. Allow to melt. Slather mayonnaise on both sides of bread and also pepper, then a dash of salt. Cut toast in half, then place back together. Lay the eggs and cheese on top. Cut through the eggs and cheese and serve. The yolks will ooze out and the bread will soak them up. Simple, yet full-filling! Enjoy! This is a weekend recipe, brought to you bec...

How Now Brown Cow? A city girl, who recently purchased a neighboring property, pulls up to a fence in her fancy SUV, stops, spots an animal, then calls out to the seasoned farmer. “Mister, how come this brown cow doesn’t have any horns?” The farmer leans on a post, takes a moment to respond, then turns back to her with the patience of a man who’s already answered the question umpteen times. “Well now, ma’am, lemme educate ya. Some folks saw them horns off with a hacksaw. Others drip little battery acid on the nubs when they’re babies to prevent growing sharp points." "This particular animal right here?” He gives the animal a fond pat on the neck. “This one ain’t hornless on account of saws, acid or good breeding, darlin’."  "Cuz it’s a horse, a course.” He tips his hat, sighs and gets b...

Drama-Free? A Veyo Pie for Thee! Guiding clients to successfully buying or selling properties can be tedious at best. Problems may arise but does that mean an agent needs to stretch their lung and vocal capacity in a yelling, screaming fit? Not in my world. They'll be doing that to thin air and as a party of one! In my humble opinion, remaining to the professional side plays a huge part in creating a stress-less environment for clients. They deserve a clear line of communication, adhering to contract terms, deadlines and always putting them first and foremost. That is my world. ✨🥧✨When the sale is done and papers are signed, a local, yummy Veyo Pie is what you'll find. Professional vibes make a closing sweet & complete. ✨🥧✨Agents are surprised to be the recipient for a job well done. Th...

There's A Kind of Hush... Snow fell quietly overnight in the southern Utah mountain ranges, reaching down as far as Veyo, Utah. Waking to several inches of snow was a wonderful surprise, though late but better that it arrives, than to skip and move on to places unknown! While snow becomes a nuisance for some, it's pure inspiration for me. Overnight snow blanketed the earth. At dawn, the sun lingered in a holding pattern, cradled by the Globe Willow’s branches. ~Wanda Kubat-Nerdin

If You Shenan Once... Harmless fun can create shared laughter. Friends and family members know that I like to indulge in playful pranks that tend to lighten the mood. If you come to our house, it can be anything from a strategically placed whoopee cushion to a detour in party planning. Here are some ideas for you:Unrolling about 20 sheets of toilet paper, then taking a black magic marker to draw a realistic spider as a prank for the next couple of bathroom guests, can bring unbridled terror. The result: Everyone within a mile wide vicinity is treated to a comical display as they drop the roll of toilet paper like it's on fire and hit the door running. Hopefully, fully clothed! Then there's the prank with a small garter snake while golfing. Everyone in the group knew their friend was dea...

BananaTude Recipes: Sun Dried Tomatoes and Green Pepper Frittata Weekend mornings are spent drinking coffee while enjoying a homemade meal. One dish that pleases, is a Frittata, which is very egg-forward and then adding multiple ingredients until satisfied with the results. Mike insists that no one eats better than he does!  Yesterday, after getting creative, I ended up with a tasty result by adding several ingredients from the fridge.  Sun Dried Tomatoes and Green Pepper FrittataIngredients:• 9 eggs beaten• 1/2 cup milk• 1 cup of shredded parmesan cheese• 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese• 1 diced fresh green pepper• 1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes• 1/2 diced onion• 1 teaspoon minced garlic• 1 teaspoon of Salad Supreme seasoning• 1 tablespoon olive oil Saute onion in olive oil until golden b...

Weekend Recipes: Puffed Soup Croutons Several years ago, Mike and I were celebrating a special occasion. He made reservations at a fine dining restaurant, where I ordered a bowl of Lobster Bisque, prior to the main course. When it arrived, the waiter took a pair of silver tongs and placed the biggest crustiest, golden crouton right dab in the center. Talk about impressive! While picking up a few items at the grocery store that other day, I thought to make some for our homemade Banana Squash soup (squash grown in Nerdin Gardens) for dinner that night then and added puff pastry to the list of items. Puffed Soup CroutonsDirections:• Roll out puff pastry on parchment.• Cut squares out. Choose your own size.• Brush a thin layer of mayonaise on top of all.• Sprinkle Salad Supreme seasoning sp...

Talk About Cat-ankerous! 😸 A German Shepherd, a Doberman and a Cat died. All three of them stood before God, who wanted to know what they believed in. First, the German Shepherd said, "I believe in discipline, training and loyalty to my master."   "Good," said God, "You may sit down on my right side."   "Doberman, what do you believe in?" Asked God. "I believe in love, care and protecting my master."  "Awe," Said God, "You may sit on my left side."  Then, he looked at the cat, and asked, "What do you believe in?"  The cat replied, "I believe you're sitting in my seat."  Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of being chosen as a cat's servant understands this very well. I wouldn't have it any other way, either! *Photo by Grok

A Jingled Jangled Dangled Christmas in 2025! Michael and I truly enjoy the Christmas season with all the bells and whistles, including twinkling lights, festive music, delightful food and drink. Who knew that Santa and the Mrs. would soon need our help? Believe it or not, here's the story that changed everything on Christmas Eve... While sheltering in place at the North Pole, Santa's reindeer became extremely restless. Suddenly, their life desires went beyond just playing reindeer games or guiding the sleigh on Christmas Eve.   Each reindeer left, forging a different path:🦌 Dasher - was hired on as a Shopping Cart Wrangler at the mall because he was ultra-light on his hooves. 🦌 Dancer - took a job at the local Gentledeer's Club, specializing in pole dancing, twirling and swirling, with ...

Nerdin Gardens: From Fruity -to- Fruition!  Our fruit trees now reside inside the workshop for the winter months, where they're watered regularly and sheltered from freezing temperatures and adverse weather. Mr. Green Jeans aka My Honey discovered two trees were ready to harvest! We picked these beauties from the Valencia orange and Meyer lemon tree today (in the feature photo)!!! They are so perfect and appear unreal in their natural state. The kunquat trees fruit will be ready soon. Am looking forward to eating them too. Happy Sunday all, mine just got brighter!

A Festive Wreath to Remember The Annual Sip 'n Sparkle Party was filled with laughter, an array of holiday desserts, Bad Santa Bingo, seasonal drinks and we all soaked up the perfect weather. This drink is so easy to make and the presentation will wow everyone who watches the drink transform right before their eyes! To make the wreath:• A mini-bundt pan with 12 slots works best. You can use either the flexible type or metal mold.• 1 1/2 cup of cranberries• 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, sliced in thin ribbons• 1-16 ounce bottle of lemon-lime soda• 16 ounces of pure pomegranate juice Add everything to the molds, not quite to the rim and freeze overnight, (I do this 2 days in advance to get a hard freeze). As guests arrive, place a wreath in the bottom of a martini or wide brim wine glass. Ad...

Getting Roasted at the Silo in Southern Utah! Oh honey, pull up a lawn chair and crack open a Diet Coke, it’s time for your Comedy Central Roast: St. George, Utah Edition. “Welcome to the stage, Southern Utah’s most enthusiastic home-selling tornado…”Wanda Kubat-Nerdin sells homes with the energy of someone who’s had three coffees and one motivational podcast too many. Her marketing photos are so polished you’d think she’s running for president of HGTV. 🏡  Wanda’s the type of agent who’ll say, “This home has good bones!”

A Blazing Silo Sunset: Compliments of NanoBanana! Praful Thakkar's zoom presentation sparked more than a few sunset or twilight photos. Every time I heard NanoBanana, I thought of Anna Banana! Anyone else? Instructions for homework this week were simpler than the one before and the results, outstanding! Instead of a listing photo, adding a brilliant sky to a Silo picture I had taken that had overcast, puffy clouds, was the choice. The prompt:Please add a brilliant sunset behind the stage and silo rather than the grey clouds.  I downloaded the manipulated photo and was extremely surprised at the results. Wow! Then I received an additional message, unprompted.NanaBanana | Explain the contents of the photo:Me: My photo is of a grain silo and stage for live bands. NanaBanana | Thank you for...
