Health and Safety Fair Monday Thru Friday this week at Grace Lutheran School!!!   Love this!  Every day this week will feature a different event rounding out the week with a huge event for all on Friday afternoon from 2:30  - 6:30.  Below is a recap of events for Monday   Grace Lutheran School's First Ever Health and Safety Week! Yes! An entire week! Each day, throughout October 18-22, our students will be receiving education on personal safety, cyber safety, health and nutrition and more. The Health and Safety Fair will begin on Friday, October 22 from 2:30 - 6:30 in the school gym and will include everything from bike safety to flu vaccinations. In several recent energy audits of older elementary schools in Utah we found out why we froze to death as a child sitting in those classrooms. No wonder we wore jackets while sitting at our desks. Even before we started the huge blower door fans to depressurize the building we noticed how cold the entire windowed walls were. These schools are retrofitting and installing new triple pane energy efficient window systems. The results are outstanding - not only is the draftiness gone, but the windows are blocking out the chilling outside temperature. Two particular classrooms had "zero" insulation on the north side walls. The entire block wall was "blue" or cold. In the thermal images - the blue is cold and red colors warm.

Energy Audit Revisited - One year later we find lower utility bills and a draft free home in Pepperwood Community of Sandy, UT. It was almost one year ago that we did performed an energy audit on a large home on Snowstar Lane in this gated community. This particular 6,000 sq ft home was "leaking at the seams". We found about 3.4 air changes per hour - one of the complaints was the draftiness when the wind was blowing. We also found missing insulation in several wall cavities. This year set up the blower door again for the first time since the retrofit and the air leakage is down to 1.2 air changes per hour. Yorkie-Apso's: Thelma + Louise love to go camping at Maple Grove Hot Springs OK-on a personal level, I adopted Yorkie Apso litter sisters from the Human Society.  Yorkie daddy and Lhasa Apso mama is the mix.  In this picture that are riding on the back of a scooter in a milk crate (we did not go very far) Yorkie-Apso's: Thelma + Louise love to go camping at Maple Grove Hot Springs Thelma is the alpha, she is head strong, barks alot, and is the protector of me and her little sister (she is on the RIGHT with the RED collar).  Louise is the baby-girl who loves to cuddle, she likes to growl when Thelma over steps her boundary and she like to think things out before jumping in as seen in the next photo when she is contemplating HOW TO jump through the center of the fence. Sweet Louise LEFT.....

Colonoscopy,  I had mine today.  I tried to be brave and not have anesthisia and made it 3/4 of the way through my   Colonoscopy Procedure but with scare tissue from 2 c-sections it became to uncomfortable so I got a good rest and went to sleep.  All in all not a bad experience, I could't eat for a day, drank stuff mixed with tropical punch and stayed close to a bathroom for 24 hrs, other wise not bad.   As much as we hate these kind of check ups they are important and I'm squeaky clean!  I have been checked almost head to toe in the last few months, it's that time in my life.  I had great medical care at Dr. Steven G Desautels, MD - Gastroenterology - Sandy, UT      Don't wait and get checked out. This may not be the greatest topic but important, Just Do It!!!!

While several cities experienced an increase in homes sold, Sandy Real Estate was one of those who experienced decreases across the board.  Sandy homes sold and the prices they sold at all decreased by about 6%.

We need Positive Price Action to confirm market bottom.  One month of price improve isn't sufficient to confirm the market bottom.  We need to see appreciation month over month for three months. PRICE ACTION      Other good signs in addition to positive price action is lower DOM (days of the market), lower new listingsand higher percent of new listings being SOLD.   SUMMARY Has the Utah Real Estate Market bottomed?
