The last time I was at the Utah Olympic Park was early February and there was a freestyle ski competition going on.  Yesterday there were a few small patches of snow left here and there, but what I really noticed was the bustle of employees getting the park ready for the summer season which begins in earnest this weekend. If you have been trying to get the nerve up for a bobsled ride down the track at 80 mph and think that you are out of luck until next December, think again.  The ice on the track is gone, that is true, but just replace the runners on the sleds with wheels and you can have the same experience all summer long at the Utah Olympic Park. For the thrill seekers in your group there are also two ziplines at the park.  There is the freestyle zipline which is a bit less intimida...

The Red Pine Condominiums and Townhomes at the Canyons were built in the late 1970's and early 1980's respectively and were the second development at the old Park West Ski Area which later became known as Canyons Resort. The Red Pine Condos are either one or two bedroom units and the townhomes are mostly three bedroom homes with a few four bedroom units sprinkled in. Red Pine is located just a short walk from the Canyons Cabriolet although in the winter months owners may prefer to make the short 2 minute drive to get closer to the actual lift.  They are far enough from the lift that I would not consider these to be ski-in/ski-out properties. Like everything else at the Canyons the location is one of the best in town, just a short drive to just about anywhere you want to go and close eno...

Hidden Creek condominiums at the Canyons Resort date back to the late 1970's and along with the Red Pine townhomes are the two oldest condo/townhome developments at the Canyons Resort.  Back in the late 1970's the Canyons was known as Park West Ski Area and served mostly locals.  For some of you who may have stayed at these condos in the past but may not recognize the name they were formerly known as the Park West condos and are the first project on the right hand side of the road when you enter the resort area. Hidden Creek condos are located just a short walk across the street from the main Canyons parking lot and cabriolet which will take skiers directly to the main base area.  You are also walking distance to the new Frostwood gondola, though this may be a bit far for some to walk, ...

The Grand Summit Hotel at the Canyons was built in 2000 and is located right at the main base village of the Canyons Resort right between the newly repositioned gondola and the just as new Orange Bubble Express lift. For those of you who may remember this ski area as either Park West or Wolf Mountain back in the 1980's and 1990's, you would not even recognize it now if you have been absent for the last 13 years.  What was once a sleepy little locals area has been transformed into a world class ski destination, rivaling those at Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley, and the Grand Summit hotel was one of the first pieces of that transformation back in 2000. There have been some growing pains to be sure.  The original visionary of the new Canyons Resort, American Skiing Company, becam...

Last Sun at The Cove townhomes are located in Park Meadows up on the hill overlooking the Jack Nicklaus designed golf course at the Park Meadows Country Club and the town of Park City.  They occupy one of the prime locations in the area and take full advantage of the southern exposure which truly does give them the last sun in the area.  This is an especially nice benefit during the shorter mid winter days when other nearby areas are already in the shade experiencing a noticeable late afternoon chill, while the Last Sun at The Cove townhomes are still basked in sunshine. The Last Sun townhomes are located just a short 7 or 8 minute drive into the town of Park City or any of the three ski resorts in the area.  The views from here are spectacular, as nice as anywhere else in town, and sin...

The Sundial Lodge was completed in 2000 and represented the first whole ownership condominiums built by the former owner of The Canyons, American Skiing Company. They were designed as ski-in/ski-out condominiums but were actually quite a good distance from the Flight of the Canyons Gondola when originally constructed.  A few years ago the gondola was re-routed which brought it closer to the main village at the Canyons.  Additionally the Orange Bubble Express was added a few years ago which is the now the closest lift to the Sundial Lodge and provides true ski-in/ski-out access to Sundial Lodge owners and guests. The Sundial Lodge is centered right on the main base village at the Canyons and many condos that face the village will have front row seats to many of the concerts and events ta...

This weekend In Park City John Gorka will be performing an acoustic show at the Historic Egyptian Theatre in Park City.  His work has been described as little more than an unmistakable voice and the simple clean sounds of his guitar and Rolling Stone Magazine has called him "the preeminent singer-songwriter of what has been dubbed the new folk movement"     John Gorka will play two shows this weekend at the Egyptian.  Friday night and Saturday night, both shows beginning promptly at 8 pm. The Egyptian Theatre is located at 328 Main Street.  For those unfamiliar with Park City it is on the upper part of Main Street on the left hand side and parking can be found on the street or in the huge covered parking structure behind the theatre in Swede Alley.   Scott Larson Keller Williams Park Ci...

Bear Hollow Village is located in the Sun Peak area of Park City near the Utah Olympic Park.  For anyone that was in Park City during the 2002 Olympics, this development sits largely on the then open space that served as the parking lot for the ski jumping, bobsled, luge and skeleton events at Utah Olympic Park during the 2002 games. Bear Hollow is conveniently located just a few minutes from Kimball Junction and Redstone Center with the many shops and restaurants that can be found in this area.  It is also just a few minutes from the main parking lot at the Canyons and about 10 minutes to Park City Mountain Resort and Deer Valley. Bear Hollow Village consists of condominium, townhome and some single family options.  Like many of the newer moderately priced developments in town, Bear Ho...

The Tanger Outlet Stores in Park City are located near the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 224 at the front entrance into town.  This outdoor outlet mall was constructed in the late 1980's with an addition in the back which added more stores about ten years ago This outlet mall has been very successful with any vacancies typically being picked up by another store in a reasonably short period of time.  There are currently over 90 stores in the Tanger Outlets including Nike, Gap, Guess, Mrs. Fields and Kay Jewelers among many others. There are apparel stores, footwear, housewares, children's stores as well as specialty and accessory stores. There is a great playground right in the center of the parking lot, located in an area they have set aside there.  It seems we can never mak...

A few weeks ago I mentioned that May 9th 2013 would be Red Day at Keller Williams where agents all over the country would be working on projects to help their local communities.  The letters in RED actually represent Renew, Energize and Donate in keeping with the theme of picking a project every year that will benefit a worthy cause in our area. This year we were working at Camp Kostopolous to help prepare them for the summer season when they will be hosting disabled children, young adults and adults throughout the summer months at their great facility. Camp Kostopolous is an amazing facility located halfway up Emigration Canyon in Salt Lake City.  There is a huge grassy area with a playground facility, basketball court and volleyball court over to the side.  There is a swimming pool, h...

The Canyon Creek Club is a townhome development located at the Kimball Junction area of Park City.  Townhomes at Canyon Creek range from one bedroom models at 642 square feet to two and three bedroom models at 1,275 square feet. These townhomes are a great option for first time home buyers as well as empty nesters and even second home owners from other areas who want a convenient place to call home when they visit Park City but want to avoid the significantly higher price tags of many of the other developments in town, especially those of the ski in/ski out variety. Amenities at the Canyon Creek Club include pools, hot tubs, volleyball and basketball courts, clubhouse and fitness center. The Canyon Creek Club is located right at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 224 in the K...

Silver Creek is one of the older developments in the Park City area with many of the homes there dating back to the 1970's and earlier.  It is horse property with most lots ranging in size between 2 and 15 acres.  Silver Creek is located just off the intersection of Highway 40 and Interstate 80 in Park City and is an easy 5-15 minute drive to Kimball Junction.  It is also close enough to the Freeway to still be a relatively easy commute into the Salt Lake Valley and is about a 20 minute drive into Park City itself. Silver Creek is unique in that it has no HOA so pretty much anything goes there.  There is no continuity in style or structure from one house to the next.  You will have a small dated home from the 1970's sitting right next door to a 7,500 square foot mountain contemporary bu...

Jeremy Ranch is located about 15-20 minutes from Park City itself as well as being a quick 20 minute drive into the Salt Lake Valley.  Due to this close distance to Salt Lake City it does serve as a bedroom community for many who work in Salt Lake but prefer to live in the mountains as opposed to the valley. There are a number of different options in the Jeremy Ranch area including single family homes as well as townhomes.  There are also several different subdivisions here including the gated subdivisions of The Trails at Jeremy Ranch, Moose Hollow and Jeremy Woods.  Today I will be discussing the single family homes in Jeremy Ranch itself but if you would like some information on any of these other options or any of the townhome options in the Jeremy Ranch area call me at 435-513-2324...

Pinebrook Park is a bit different than some of the larger parks in Park City like Willow Creek Park and Trailside Park but it is no less enjoyable for the kids. Pinebrook Park is a smaller neighborhood park largely serving the Pinebrook and Jeremy Ranch areas although open to any and all. There is a nice playground structure for the kids with slides, ropes and other obstacles to keep them occupied for hours. Next to the playground equipment are swings, a beach volleyball court and a full court basketball court as well.  Yesterday as I stopped by to snap these pictures they were all getting a good amount of use on a beautiful spring day in Park City. There is a huge grass soccer field that is used by residents as kind of a neighborhood dog park as well, as you can see in the picture I to...

The Newpark townhomes are located near the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 224 in the Newpark/Redstone area of Kimball Junction.  A short 25 minute commute into Salt lake City or 10 minutes into Park City. One of the great things about these townhomes is the way they are situated like a ring bordering the Swaner preserve.  All of the units directly border the Preserve with nothing blocking the views across the open space and all the way to the area ski resorts in the surrounding mountains, giving these townhomes a feeling of isolation and serenity while at the same time being just a short stroll to the supermarket as well as numerous stores, shops and restaurants. Nestled right in between one side of the Newpark townhomes and the Basin Recreation Fieldhouse is a small intimate...

The Fox Point at Redstone townhomes are located directly adjacent to the Redstone Shopping Center in the Kimball junction area of Park City at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highway 224. These townhomes are another great option for residents who work in the Park City area as well as those who commute down to the Salt Lake Valley.  It is about 25 minutes down to the Salt Lake Valley and 10 minutes from Main Street in Park City. There is an asphalt walking/hiking/biking trail that winds around the outside of this development and many of the outside units have spectacular views of the mountains as well as the Swaner Preserve which borders this development. The townhomes at Fox Point come in configurations of 2 and 3 bedrooms and range in size from 974 to 1467 square feet.  They were...

The Elk Run townhomes are located just down the street from the Pinebrook Pointe condominiums and also have the advantage of a great location.  Within a short 20 minute drive you can be in the Salt Lake Valley and you are also just 15 minutes from Park City proper. Elk Run is an easy bike ride or walk to the Quarry Village Shopping Center with it's many shops and restaurants and on the way over there is a beautiful park.  Pinebrook Park has a large playground area for the kids as well as grassy playing fields and a pavilion for a picnic lunch or larger gatherings.  My two daughters were just here last week with a few of their friends.  They do make the rounds to all of the local parks. There is also a small play area within Elk Run itself for the kids to enjoy. There are 4 different pha...

The first thing that comes to mind when looking at the Pinebrook Pointe condominiums is the outstanding location.  From Pinebrook Pointe you can be in the Salt Lake Valley in less than 20 minutes, making it an easy location from which to commute to downtown Salt Lake City.  You are also only 15 minutes from Main Street in Park City and an easy stroll down to the Quarry Village Shopping Center with it's restaurants, shops and grocery store. The Pinebrook Pointe condominiums were built in the late 1990's and consist of one to three bedroom units ranging in size from 680 square feet on the one bedroom models to 1280 square feet on some of the two bedroom and all of the three bedroom units.  These condos are located high up on a hill and provide many residents with excellent views of the Pi...
