Special Government Home Renovation Loan Program using Troy Texas FHA 203k Mortgage Loans. Many are not aware of a special government loan program that is actually a part of FHA (Federal Housing Administration- a department within HUD). Existing home owners or potential home buyers can remodel and update their homes without having a higher cost second lien because of this FHA loan program.  "Luxury items" like a hot tub and a swimming pool are not allowed by this FHA loan program. Repaint, remodel cabinetry in kitchens and bathrooms, add wallpaper, replace appliances and flooring and even a add a room to an existing structure (which will increase the value of the homes square footage).  One of the biggest advantages to this government loan program is you have all of your acquisition or r...

The City of Troy is about 1500 population, and is celebrating being an incorporated City for 50 years this year. It recently got it's first traffic lights installed by the Texas Department of Transportation. The lights will help reduce the vehicular traffic congestion at Main Street and Interstate Highway 35 Frontage Roads during the morning and afternoon school rush hour. Previously, there were only stop signs and flashing red lights at this intersection, causing traffic to back up in long lines.

Troy, Texas was incorporated as a city on July 13th, 1960. The City of Troy Texas is celebrating 50 years. Troy's Homecoming Jubilee was on July 17th, 2010, and was a family oriented celebration, promoted and organized by the City of Troy. It was like a large family reunion, or social event beginning with a parade, which led to the festivities at the Trojan Park. There were lots of games and activities for all ages, including a dunking booth, horseshoes, hula hoops, cute baby photo contest, car show, music from that era as well as vendors.

Survey crews have been surveying up and down IH-35 recently in Troy Texas. Hopefully they are closer to making the widening of IH-35 a reality. This project has been in various plan and hold patterns, for about 10 years now, making it difficult for property owners and business owners to plan for the future. We need to watch out when driving around the field crew as they are busy working on the side of the roads.

The Texas Transportation Commission unanimously voted on November 19, 2009 to spend approximately $2 billion in 74 new highway projects, including $418.1 million to expand Interstate Highway 35 through Bell County. The money comes from Proposition 12 bond proceeds, which Texas Voters approved in 2007 and the Legislature authorized earlier this year. This I-35 widening is planned to be from FM 2843 to FM 2484 in Salado; and, from the north Loop 363 in Temple through Troy, through Falls County, and into McLennan County to Woodlawn Road. This funding does not address widening of I-35 through Temple/Belton and Waco, as, like many other important projects across the state, some I-35 expansion projects will not meet the bonds' expenditure timeframe. According to TxDOT website, other projects...
