TRADER JOES COMING TO THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS Exciting things continue to happen here in The Woodlands, Texas.  Construction is well under way at the Woodlands Crossing Shopping Center in the Village of Indian Springs!  Trader Joe's will open in our market sometime this spring of 2012! The California based unique-style grocery store will be the first in the Houston area!  Those of us in The Woodlands couldn't be happier!  As you can see from these pictures that I took today, the construction on the store is moving along nicely. TEXAS BLUEBONNETS! If you have never been to Texas when our state flower the Bluebonnets are in bloom, you have missed out!  These gorgeous wild flowers will blanket almost every roadway in Texas during March and April.  This year we might be seeing them a little earlier due to the spring-like weather that we have been having. People will come out in droves to photograph these flowers!  It is a favorite thing to do to take the family and have  those family pictures taken in the flowers.  The pictures of babies in the Bluebonnets are especially lovely!  Just be careful to make a lot of noise to scare away any snakes that could be lurking there! SEVERE WEATHER ALERT ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX In The Woodlands, Texas right now a very severe line of thunderstorms are pushing into the area.  Although we need the rain, this storm is producing high winds, flooding, dangerous lightening and tornadic activity.  Taking precautions now are important: Find a room or closet without windows in case you need to take cover. Keep your phone with you in case you need to make an emergency call. Stay tuned in to any updated weather alerts. If driving, pay attention and head to a covered area if needed. How did The Woodlands and its' MLS area fare in single family residence unit sales in 2011 versus 2010? Not bad considering all of the economic factors at play this past year. Plus let's not forget all of those politicians playing please let me be your presidential nominee. Who knows what impact that had on anything. Here is your quick look. MLS area 15: Woodlands, Oak Ridge, Shenandoah, The and west to the county line. This MLS area enjoyed a pretty good year in 2011. Unit sales for 2011 vs 2010 were up 6.84%. The average sale price increased 2.1%. That is about what I expect the average sales price increase to be over the next couple of years barring an unexpected turn of events. THE WOODLANDS MARATHON ~ MARCH 3, 2012 After a long hiatus, The Woodlands Marathon is returning in six weeks!  Everyone is so excited and geared up to see this race return to the area.  For those of us who have been around for awhile, we can remember when this race was a common thing here.  I actually ran the race back in 1985!  Man do I sound old! ARBOR DAY HAS SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE THIS YEAR IN THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS   Due to the severe drought that we experienced here in The Woodlands, Texas this year, our beloved trees have taken a beating.  Back in 2009 when hurricane Ike slammed into the area, the trees sustained major damage and caused the to weaken.  As our temperatures this summer climbed to record breaking numbers along with the absence of rain, the already distressed trees have taken a major hit.   We are losing trees by the dozens on a daily basis.  As Arbor Day came this year, The Woodlands residents understood more than ever the importance of replanting our precious trees.  The more that we can plant now, the better it will be for us as the years go by.   The Woodlands has always done an outstanding job with our deed re... 01/22/2012

SAVE OUR BOY.ORG I had the most incredible experience thus far as a real estate agent.  An average day as I am working in front of my computer and I answer a call from an area code that I do not recognize.  The woman on the other end found me via the Internet, lives in Miami and was coming to The Woodlands in search of a home for herself.
