SCENES FROM THE JIMMY BUFFET CONCERT THE WOODLANDS, TX What an evening!  As always, the Jimmy Buffet concert delivers!  Not only during the concert but also during the tailgating that is going on all day long! We had a great time before the concert walking around "Margaritaville" right here in The Woodlands, Texas!  This is truly a pilgrimage for so many people as they line up in the wee hours of the morning to claim their own spot in the Buffet-mania!  We were not disappointed at all! The concert was a sell out as always and Jimmy was in full-form!  He changed the words of Margaritaville up a bit to reflect his recent fall off of a stage.  It was very funny!  Glad he can laugh about it now. I have a client who is in a high-end home here in The Woodlands.  They are building a new home and are not necessarily ready to place their home on the market "officially".  However, The Woodlands is experiencing a boom with all of the high level executives relocating to our area. JIMMY BUFFET CONCERT~THE WOODLANDS, TX 2012  Can't believe that a year has already flown by since the last Jimmy Buffet concert here in The Woodlands, Texas!  This Saturday, June 2, 2012 Jimmy Buffet will be performing at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.  This is always a sell-out concert and the tailgating parties begin early in the day! I will be there all day enjoying the festivities and ending with the concert.  The weather is supposed to be sunny and warm so the Margarita's will be flowing!  I am sure the cheeseburgers will be consumed as well! If you don't have a ticket, there are always tickets to be found through various outlets.  You will pay a premium but it is well worth it.  The Pavilion is the perfect venue for this concert.  Just be careful of the flying beach balls!   Sometime we forget to treat others the way we want to be treated. In real estate, I have met many clients and realtors. What I have found is there are many good agents out there working on your behalf. Just like any profession, you will find those who are there for the paycheck and those who give you 150% and willing to go that extra mile to make your experience a great one.   I would rate clients, on treating my time as precious as theirs. Be on time, as I am have made appointments to show them these homes. I would take care of their vehicle as if it was my own. I would wipe my feet, no drinking, eating or smoking in someone else’s car. I would not allow my children to kick the seats. COMMERCIAL OFFICE SPACE IN THE WOODLANDS, TX Never in the history of The Woodlands have we been faced with a situation like we now have for Class A office space!  Basically, there is very, very little office space available at this time.  New buildings are under construction now as well as several more in the planning stages. An unprecedented leasing frenzy is occurring due to companies like Exxon who is currently building a 300 acre site adjacent to The Woodlands.  When Exxon officially announced that they were indeed building the site, this created what I call an Energy~Synergy!  The companies that have Exxon as a client such as manufacturing companies, technology, etc. are circling the area to bring their companies to The Woodlands. IRONMAN TEXAS ~ THE WOODLANDS ~ RECAP 2012 The 2nd Ironman Texas here in The Woodlands is officially over!  We had another very successful event and the spectators as well as volunteers turned out by the thousands.  We stayed all the way until midnight when the event was officially over. The most inspiring part of this race in my opinion is during the final few hours of the race.  The pros are awesome to watch however, seeing the everyday men and women out there on the course for 15 - 17 hours is truly amazing!  I don't know how they do it but I do know that it is truly mind over matter! The stories of the people competing are heart-wrenching.  So many have overcome huge obstacles to be able to do this race.  It really isn't a matter of bragging rights, rather it is a group of folks who... 05/21/2012

SPECIAL MEMORIES ~ HIGH SCHOOL PROM! The Woodlands High School prom was Saturday night and it was so fun to see all of the kids dressed up!  We had the group over to our home to have their pictures made!  They all looked so nice! It brings back memories from long ago for my own prom back in the day.  The styles have changed a bit and most dramatically in the tux department.  My date in 1978 wore a powder blue tux with a white, ruffled shirt.  What were we thinking? Today the kids are very sophisticated wearing sleek, black suits or tuxes while the girls are in gorgeous gowns that make them look like they are in their 20's!  Needless to say, they look so much more grown up than we did!  Also, the money they spend is astounding! IRONMAN TEXAS ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX ~ RACE DAY! The Ironman Texas is in full swing today as thousands of athletes have arrived here in The Woodlands to compete!  As you can see in the picture above which was taken early this morning around7 a.m., there area a lot of athletes competiting in this event. The excitement has been building here in The Woodlands all week!  Now the pros are finishing while the majority of everyday athletes are still out in the Texas sun as they aim to finish this grueling race!  We are headed down to the finish line later this evening to cheer on many of our friends who are competiting. IT'S PROM TIME IN THE WOODLANDS ~ BE SAFE! It is that time of year when the young men and women of our local high schools gear up for their Prom!  The Woodlands High School prom is tomorrow night at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott.  This is one of those memorable occasions in a young person's life.  However, we all know that with the prom, there can be danger.  Please pass this along to all of the young people who will be going to prom.  These tips may save a life! Please designate a driver!  Make sure that your teen arrives to and from the prom safely!  Hire a driver, have a trusted friend, brother, sister or whoever to drive!  Even if there is no one drinking, teens tend to be careless and distracted with all of the hoopla! IRONMAN TEXAS 2012 ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX ~ THE RUN COURSE The Ironman Texas Run section will be taking place after a 2.4 mile swim and a 112 mile bike ride.  The 26.2 mile race will be going through the Woodlands and is comprised of 3 loops that wind through the area.  The race will end directly in the heart of The Woodlands Waterway district.  The finish line will be at the bridge on Waterway Avenue. If you want to be inspired and energized, come out and watch this race!  Athletes from all over the world are here in The Woodlands.  The event fills up our hotels and brings a lot of tax dollars to the area.  The economic impact is wonderful! IRONMAN TEXAS 2012 ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX ~ THE BIKE COURSE The Ironman Texas is taking place Saturday, May 19th in The Woodlands, Texas.  After a challenging 2.4 mile swim in Lake Woodlands, the race will transition to the 112 mile bike ride.  This being the longest of the race will impact traffic for many hours on Saturday. The racers will leave the Town Green Park area and will be heading west on Woodlands Parkway all the way to FM 2978.  From there they continue to head north up through Montgomery and into the Sam Houston National Forest before winding through the rural areas and beginning to make their way back south to The Woodlands back to Town Green Park. IRONMAN TEXAS 2012 ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX ~ THE SWIM COURSE The 2.4 mile Ironman Texas swim will begin early Saturday Morning, May 19, 2012.  The beginning of the swim will start at Northshore Park and will be a point-to-point swim ending at Town Green Park.  Thousands of athletes will begin the swim as early at 6:50 a.m. The best places to watch the swim will be on the bridge overlooking Northshore Park at Lake Woodlands.  Another great location would be the pedestrian bridge at Woodlands Parkway where it overlooks the lake.  To see the swimmers emerging from the water at Town Green Park, down by the waterway near the library or over at the Boardwalk Apartments. IRONMAN TEXAS 2012 ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX The Woodlands, Texas is gearing up (so to speak) for the 2nd Ironman Texas competition.  Last year was the first year for the Ironman to visit Texas and The Woodlands is the location for the event.  A sold out event last year and this year as well along with huge community support makes this a wonderful thing for The Woodlands. The event will take place this Saturday, May 19th beginning at Northshore Park with the 2.4 mile swim, commencing to the 112 mile bike ride and ending with a grueling 26.2 mile run.  This brought out a ton of spectators last year as well as thousands of community volunteers.  This year promises to be even better! MY QUACKY MOTHER'S DAY SURPRISE! I was completely engrossed in my novel sitting out by the pool yesterday enjoying my Mother's Day afternoon.  I look up after hearing some quacking ducks.  My husband saw this little flock of ducks in the front yard and proceeded to let them into the back yard. As soon as those little guys saw the swimming pool they were like "ducks to water"!  They just plopped right in looking as if this was their new home!  Oh no, my pool has gone a-fowl!  It was really great watching them swim around.  They are quite noisy though. The neighborhood children came over and fed them and absolutely loved having the ducks so close!  What a perfect Mother's Day surprise.  The book went unread but the fun we had was great!
