I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I have heard that question from clients moving to The Woodlands from out of state or even a different local school district. In the early 1970s a developer had a vision.  He thought up a concept which revolutionized neighborhoods in the greater Houston area.     The original residents were the Texas wildlife.  The forested area provided lots of trees to clean up the air and provide a safe haven for deer and armadillos.   The man was George Mitchell.  The development was what is now commonly referred to as a" master planned community  ". I love Farmer's markets and would often visit the one that happens in Union Square when I was visiting our daughter in NYC.  I would try different farmer's markets that I heard about in our area only to be disappointed.  That is until I went to the Farmer's Market that is held in The Woodlands in Grogan's Mill in the Randall's parking lot on Saturday mornings from 8:00AM until noon.   I was thrilled with the variety of products available.  I came away with olive oil bottled in Texas, beef grown in Texas, tamales that are to die for, fresh vegetables and coffee from a family farm in Costa Rica.  This is only a small sampling you could also get fresh eggs, soaps, lotions, etc. etc. etc. I want to give a little plug for Pearl's pastured beef.  This happens to be on of my clients and that w... 06/27/2012

THE BEACH BOYS IN THE WOODLANDS 2012   The Beach Boys came to The Woodlands last Saturday night and I was one of the lucky ones who was rocking with the crowd at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion! This was part of their 50 year tour! Being 52, the music from these guys has been a big part of my entire life.What a privilege it was to be able to see them live! All of those great songs just take you back in time when you hear them. Everyone was singing, on their feet and having a wonderful time!My hat is off to these men who shaped our music, our lives and continue to entertain us after all of these years. THE WOODLANDS STORM OF JUNE 12, 2012   It was truly a very frightening experience yesterday in The Woodlands as we were hit with a major storm that just seemed to come out of nowhere! I was sitting in my office and noticed that the once sunny day was quickly turning dark. I got up to look out of the window because the clouds looks strange to me.Literally within minutes, the wind became so strong that our trees were bending at an angle that I had not witnessed since Hurricane Ike in 2009. These were no mere wind gusts but straight-line winds that were continuing to get stronger by the minute. The NEW FHA Collection Rule has been cancelled, per HUD’s letter on 6-15.  Which is awesome news for all buyers looking for a FHA Loan.  Please call or email me with any questions.    It was delayed before but as of now the FHA Collection Account rule change is going into effect July 1st.  Here are the specifics of the rule: HUD announced that on all FHA loans started on July 1st and after, borrowers must have collection accounts paid off(total balance over $1000).   This is a major announcement that sort of fell under the radar.   But has major ramifications.  What does this mean?  If the borrower has a total of $1000 in collection balances then they must be paid off or proof the borrower has been in a payment plan for 3mths.  This would mean a total of $1000 or more.  Not just one acc... 06/07/2012
