So while the rest of America was busy scooping up deals on-line….I was busy showing homes all day….and I mean ALL Day!!! I guess the 2 have in common that you can find them both on-line…and that today was a VERY busy day.  I showed homes from 8 this morning till 9 tonight as my new client is here on a home finding trip for only 2 days .  We only paused briefly to grab a quick snack so we could make it through the day without passing out! Then while I was out with 1 client….4 others called! The line forms here…. Isn’t that the way it goes? When it rains, it pours! Feast or Famine…I will take the Feast please! The Colors of The Fall!   Here in The Woodlands, Texas we do not always see the beautiful colors of the fall but this year we have received this beautiful gift nature provides in the fall as the colors are more vibrant than usual.  Maybe it’s because of our milder weather and that we have not seen a major cold snap yet but rather more beautiful cool fall days. The Google Juice has definitely started to flow! I have received another call where someone said they "Googled" Agents in my area and they found me. I was not on the 1st page but they said they liked my "Website"! The website they were talking about, was not my website at all but my Active Rain site!! They thought it was up to date and had great local info. So, it wasn't my actually website that pay for but rather my blogging site here on Active Rain. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! I had a very special, much needed, relaxing Thanksgiving! We enjoyed the day with family and friends and it was a day filled with blessings.  Although all of our family could not be together, we had very special time and enjoyed this day as we remembered all that we are thankful for. I am thankful for many things, family and friends, and the wonderful meal I didn’t have to cook this year…a 1st in a very long time! The Smell of Apple Pie…. Have you ever heard a Realtor say to make your home smell good when selling? Maybe even use an apple pie scented candle?  Well that is because there is nothing quite like the smell of apple pie to make you feel at home and conjure up happy, warm thoughts.  Right now…My House Smells Like Apple Pie as it is baking in the oven!  I have to say, the theory is right. There is nothing like it and the real thing is even better! I haven’t made an apple pie in so long and I cannot wait to have a piece tomorrow as we celebrate all we are thankful for. My sister is headed to Uganda this week to do a Amazing documentary on orphans in Uganda ... "We are traveling to Uganda at the end of November to do a documentary short on families rebuilding post Kony or LRA era. There is an amazing organization who brings orphaned children together with mothers who have lost their own families. There is a village of these new formed families and their stories are so inspiring as they come together to rebuild." She wanted to bring some clothing for the 13 kids she will be filming so I put this email out there: "My sister is headed to Uganda next week to work on a documentary about the orphans there. Things I am most Thankful for….In The Woodlands, TX! I have a lot to be thankful for and I can’t help but stop and think about all the blessings I have! This year there have been a lot of ups and downs but one thing is for sure, I am thankful for my family! As the week of Thanksgiving approaches, I am reminded of all the important things in life that are worth slowing down for.  I am reminded of all the things that I am thankful for.    Sometimes life can be crazy and for me it most certainly has been.  This week I am going to take the time to make a few memories with those that mean the most to me and remember why I work so hard throughout the year.  Maybe over a cup of coffee I will tell the people that mean the most just how thankful for them I am.   So, this week I am going to not just celebrate Thanksgiving by filling myself with delicious food on Thursday but by spending some quality time with those that mean the most to me! I love to find beautiful things and see if I can make them or recreate them!  They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  When it comes to Christmas, all the beautiful decorations definitely excite me and I love to try to make them as pretty at home as how I see them at the store. My friend and I went on a fun outing today to get our creative ideas going and here are a few of the beautiful things we saw.  I took pictures of some beautiful Christmas Trees, Wreaths, and Garlands and I will be trying to recreate a few…keyword being “ trying”.  In the meantime, I thought I would share in case they inspire anyone else!  I will post pictures after I decorate and create! The PINK DOOR NON-PROFIT 5th Anniversary Gala proved to be a huge SUCCESS! It was out biggest fundraiser to date and we raised a GOAL EXCEEDED Amount of $151,728.42! This money will go directly to the “My Pink Wish” Needs Assistance Program.  Pink Door is 100% Volunteer based and National Recognized 501c3 and a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping women begin a new life after cancer through our programs and services. THE MARKET STREET THE WOODLANDS CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING 2012   The Market Street in The Woodlands Christmas Tree will officially be lit on Thursday, November 15th.  Beginning at 6 p.m. - 7:30, the annual tree will be lit by a deserving young child.  You will want to arrive early so plan on having dinner at one of the fine restaurants in Market Street. The child chosen this year to light the tree is Grant Meerman.  Grant is 6 years old and was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy three years ago.  He will most likely be wheelchair bound by the age of 10.  Grant's family is dedicated to helping Grant as the disease progresses.  You can visit the website about him at www.saveourboy.org.  A 1st time home buyer & Veteran SALUTE in The Woodlands, TX! Today was a great day, One that reminds me why I am proud to be a Realtor.  I had the opportunity to work with and serve one of our Veterans of this Great Country! He was also a 1st time home buyer.  For any transaction, we came across a number of items that can come up.  Repair issues, (thankfully mino)r, termites, (thankfully only on a pile of wood next to but not on the house), and then of course there was the appraisal….when the appraiser called and asked if the house was on a well, I knew we were in trouble.  He was not familiar with the neighborhood but thankfully all worked out in the end!   My buyer learned a lot over the last few months and he asked, is this normal?
