Unbelievable Week - 91 Dogs Adopted/PUSH List All Safe Since Monday March 20, 2017, the Fort Bend County Animal Services Shelter in Rosenberg TX had 91 dogs adopted! Amazing number of adoptions in my mind. All of the PUSH (Pets Urgently Seeking (a) Home) were either adopted or rescued. Personally I was very concerned about these dogs who all had been at the shelter the longest period of time. As I had said I had personal contact with all of the pups on the list.I want to tell everyone involved, including the staff, volunteers, local news media, SOCA FBC folks (501c3) and the adopters/rescuers,  THANK YOU so much. Animal Shelter PUSH List Update On March 21, 2017 I post an Urgent appeal as there were 15 dogs on the PUSH list (adopt or  rescue  or die) at the Fort Bend County Animal Services Shelter in Rosenberg TX. The great news is 25 dogs were adopted the next day plus some additional adoptions on Thursday March 23, 2017. The PUSH list has now dropped down to 5 remaining dogs and their deadline has been extended to tomorrow Saturday March 24, 2017 at 2 PM. The shelter opens at 10 AM and closes at 2 PM.  As I said in previous post, I have had a personal involvement with all the pups on this PUSH list. I volunteer on Saturday morning at the shelter. Prior Dog of the Week - Adopted - Whoop!!  My Dog of the Week for February 10, 2017 was adopted from the Fort Bend County Animal Shelter in Rosenberg TX on Saturday February 18, 2017. I did not have an opportunity to share this excellent news last week. This pup is a female lab mix and such friendly, loving and good looking pup. I was at the shelter when I saw some folks, along with a staff person controlling her, were in the middle section taking time to get to know her. I was playing with another dog and put this pup back right away.  I went over and gave these folks  my opinion as I have had her out to walk and play several times. Dog of the Week - February 10, 2017 Last week I did not post a dog of the week article as part of my series as there were 15 dogs on what is called the PUSH list at the Fort Bend County Animal Services shelter in Rosenberg TX. These dogs needed to be rescued, or  fostered or adopted and if this not did occur they would have been euthanized. I did publish a post about the original 15 pups as it was important to get these dogs out of the shelter alive. The greater the audience for these types of communication the greater the odds of adoption increase. I am happy to report all 15 were saved with the last one rescued at the end of the day and end of her time late yesterday. December 22, 2016 - Dog of the Week Available for Adoption I was going to feature two dogs on my Dog of the Week post but happily one pup was adopted this morning at the Fort Bend Animal Services Animal Shelter in Rosenberg TX. She is such a nice loving pup. I am extremely happy she went home for the holidays.  My other pup friend still needs a good home. She is a black female Lab with ID 009742 of an unknown age. My best guess is she is fairly young but I certainly have no expertise in this area. I took her for a walk last Saturday and she did pee in the grass right away. Always a good sign. I took her to a concrete bench and we sat together as she jumped up next to me. I spent our time together giving her treats, petting her, giving her hugs and speaking to her. Dog of the Week Available for Adoption I volunteered yesterday at the Fort Bend Animal Shelter in Rosenberg, TX. I saw a very small plus skinny Chihuahua and Terrier mix dog who was frighten beyond belief. He would not venture to the front of his pen even for a dog treat I brought with me. I tried to take him for a walk but the big dogs in the same room as him went nuts barking and jumping as we tried to leave. I had to carry this poor little guy outside and his heart was beating so hard. His whole body was shaking. Poor pup! His ID number is A009677.  I picked him up again and carried him to a bench. Dexter sat in my lap while I calmed him down. Of course I was petting and hugging  him and talking in a soft voice.
