  Last Night of the Old Fashioned Tent Revival in Riverside, Texas       What is UP with this Spring weather? Last night we like to froze to death at the tent revival.  (And it was worth EVERY moment!!) This morning when I woke up it was in the high 30's.   BBQ Benefit for Clint Driskell   A BBQ benefit for Clint Driskell is being held on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 11 AM to 2 PM at Daisy's Diner in Riverside, Texas.   For those of you who do not know, Clint, a Trinity County Sheriff's Deputy, suffered a stroke during a traffic stop.  Unfortunately, since he had been employed with the county less than 90 days, his insurance benefit had not taken effect.   Our Riverside folks will recognize Clint's girlfriend, Angela Townsend from Daisy's Diner.  She has worked in Riverside for a long time.   Join Us For An Old Fashioned Tent Revial in Riverside       What’s really cool about this revival is the fact that it is put on by 5 local churches.         This year each of these pastors will invite a guest preacher to team preach with them for their night!               Supper is served at 5:30 and it is inexpensive.     Tent Raisers Needed in Riverside This Saturday     It’s tent raising time again at Riverside Adventures in beautiful Riverside, Texas! What’s the tent for?   I’m glad you asked! The tent is for Camp Meeting 2013 which is an old fashioned tent revival.         What’s really cool about this revival is the fact that it is put on by 5 local churches. But there will be more about the revival later this week. FIRST.... before we can have a revival, we must have a tent!!     So.... we need volunteers to come out and help raise the tent.   TLRVFD Annual Garage Sale     The Thomas Lake Road Community Association will hold their annual garage sale on Saturday April 6, 2013 from 8 am to 2 pm.     Area residents and parishioners from multiple churches celebrated Easter Sunrise Services together at 7 AM at the Riverside United Methodist Church prayer gardens. Brother Jim Newton of Riverside Baptist Church welcomed us. Brother Ural Massey from Broyles Chapel opened us up in prayer, and Reverend Warren Austin brought the message.   We enjoyed coffee and donuts before heading off to our respective churches for the regular morning services.   I love being part of a small community that enjoys worshiping together!   The 2013 Easter EGGstravaganza Was Awesome The kids had their face painted, bounced around in the castles, hunted eggs, and played games. We ate hot dogs, guessed how many jelly beans were in a jar, gave away easter baskets, and took pictures!     The Easter EGGstravaganza is sponsored by Broyles Chapel, Riverside Baptist Church, and Riverside United Methodist Church as a community outreach.   I wish that I had my regular camera to shoot this, but all I had was my phone. The moon was so pretty tonight as we were heading home. I followed it (the moon) around to Bethy Creek Resort just to see how it looked over the water. As I shot my picture with my handy dandy call phone I noticed a photographer on their knees, using a tripod to catch a great shot of the moon over the water. Good for them!!  03/26/2013
