Yesterday Beckett’s team, the Smurfs played despite a storm that was descending on Austin. The temperature fell to 60 degrees, the wind picked up; and at first started drizzling. With 30 minutes left in the game it started raining, the field became muddy, and the balls were slick so they called the game! Beckett took first base because she accidently was hit by a ball from the pitcher! It happens, the wind was up.Hudson and I huddled under a blanket and thank goodness he brought it! The good news is they all played well and hung in there until the game was called! It’s all just part of sports, you learn to persevere!“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Like so many across the world, we are celebrating Earth Day at our office building, “Plaza One” at the Arboretum from 9 am - 11am. This annual event held today on April 22, 2024 demonstrates support for environmental protection. Vendors will be on hand to accept recycled items.This year the theme for World Earth day centers on Planet vs. Plastics to bring thoughtfulness to the serious issue of plastic pollution and how it harms our environment. World Earth Day is both a grim reminder of the work that must be done and also a celebration for the progress we have made when it comes to climate change efforts. Follow the housing market in the San Antonio Texas area, Major cities in Texas and the Uvalde County areas for March 2024. Total Sales were 3,244. Average sales price of homes in San Antonio was $370,824, and the median sales price was $310,223.We are still slightly in a seller's market with homeowners getting 94.4% of listed price. Days on the market was up to 79 days, and the inventory of available homes was at 4.4 months. Price per square foot was $178. Residential rentals are now averaging $1820/month. Travis County in the Austin, TX area still shows the highest cost for residential housing, with Dallas and Harris counties following. Cluster mailboxes are how we receive our mail in the master planned community of Canyon Creek. About 8 weeks ago someone ran into the boxes in my section of the community at night and rendered them inoperable (from neighbors I learned the car didn’t sustain much damage)! It’s located right by one of the crosswalks at the elementary school.  Last year we received new cluster boxes as the old ones dated back to the 1990’s. I’m sure the City of Austin does not want to replace them again but we have to go to the Post Office 8 miles away to pick up our mail! The Post office said it could be 6 months to a year before they are replaced! I stopped at the Post Office to pick up my mail and ran into someone on my street and 2 streets over!
