Kingwood Movies 14, a brand-new Starplex Cinema will be opening on Friday June 18, 2010.  The theater features Real D 3-D digital projection which immerses the audience in the experience.  This will deliver a high quality resolution than HD with sound that is 3 times the power of the conventional movie theater.  Kingwood Movies 14 will also have expanded concessions that include Blue Bell ice cream, pizza, mini corn dogs and more.  The seating will be the high-backed rockers with cup holders.  And Automated Box Office kiosks will be available to expedite ticket purchases, as well as using the "print at home" ticketing.  Birthday party rooms will be available for rental also.   HOUSTON -- Houston homeowners are once again spending money to upgrade: not by buying bigger, new homes, but by remodeling what they have. "I'm seeing a whole lot more activity," said Fred Spaulding of Quality Home Improvements. Remodelers like him said that as the economy tanked in 2008, so did home remodeling. My contractor friends, family, and friends.  April 22, 2010, Earth Day, was D-Day on the enforcement of the EPA Lead, Remodel, Paint, designed to protect you from lead poisoning.    I’m surprised that so many contractors still don’t know about this law.  It deals with homes built prior to 1978.  You MUST test the painted surface for lead if you are going to disturb over a total of six square on the interior of a home or twenty square foot on the exterior.  This not only applies to remodelers, but also to window installers, siding installers, plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, any trade that disturbs the painted surfaces in pre-1978 homes. The Kingwood Dog Park needs your help.  They are having a clean up day at the park on Saturday, April 10 from 9 AM to 1 PM.  Any help you can provide with time or tools would be very much appreciated.  The plan is to concentrate on filling holes, leveling and laying out a pathway with designated pool areas.  The tools needed are shovels, wheelbarrows & chainsaws.  And if you have any timber that could be used as edging for crushed granite - they'd love that donation!   The Kingwood Dog Park is located at 619 Lakeville Drive, just off Russell Palmer Drive & next door to Kingwood Kennels.  The park is maintained & improved by The Kingwood Dog Park Association.  And The Kingwood Dog Park Association is run entirely by volunteers & funded through individual donations & generous sponsors.   ... 04/04/2010
