Monday, July 11, 2011 Read Matthew 13:1-23 "Hear then the parable of the sower. The seed sown on the path is the onewho hears the word of the kingdom without understanding it,and the evil one comes and steals awaywhat was sown in his heart. The seed sown on rocky groundis the one who hears the word and receives it at once with joy. But he has no root and lasts only for a time. When some tribulation or persecution comes because of the word,he immediately falls away. The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the wordand it bears no fruit. But the seed sown on rich soilis the one who hears the word and understands it,who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold." Lord Jesus, grow whatever crop you desi...

Sunday, July 10, 2011 Read Matthew 13:1-9 Jesus spoke to them at length in parables, saying:"A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit,a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear." Come Master of the harvest,  sow your word in every part of me.

Chris McLaughlin wrote- Fannie Mae offers new financing option "Remember how we all blamed investor/flippers using faultyfinancing for the housing crash? You know, these are all the badguys who ran up home prices to their own profit, with no concernfor the inevitable fallout; they colluded with overzealous, borderline blind, lenders who gave anybody and everybody a loanwith no attention paid to their ability to repay said loan. That's all over now. You can't get a loan without pledging yourfirst born in collateral, and if you're an investor, you ranksomewhere just below Angelo Mozilo. Or do you? Last month FannieMae made a little change in the rules for all-cash buyers toapply for mortgages. I don't recall a press release, and I'mquite sure I'm on their mailing list. But there it is,'Ann...

Houston one of 10 best cities to buy rental property The American dream of homeownership has dissolved into the daydream of a decent rental, and some cities are making it very easy on their month-to-month newcomers. Vacancies among the nation's rental properties dropped from 6.6% last year to 6.2% last quarter as 44,000 more units found renters during that period than during the same period a year earlier, according to Reis. That's the largest increase during that normally slow winter period since 2000 and the lowest vacancy rate since 2008. Slight improvements in job growth and employment figures are driving demand for housing again, but even the 4.5% rate on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage quoted by Fannie Mae in June -- the lowest since December -- hasn't kept year-to-date existing-hom...
