I have been looking online at apartments for my daughter.  She is moving to Denton, Texas this summer and wants to live in a nice apartment.  I am very excited about this because that is my Alma Mater. I am very happy to help her look for her place (of course! it is what we parents do).  There are a ton of newer apartments since my good ole college days,but while I was browsing online I saw www.vintagepads.com. Just pulled stats on Denton County, TX homes inventory and it's a grim picture. However, the number of homes on the market is up 9% since September of 2009. As I awoke yesterday morning to a hot cup of coffee and the television, having fallen asleep in front of the TV the night before, to CNN reporting the live rescue of the 33 trapped miners in the SAN JOSÉ MINE, Chile, I was amazed at the support for these miners.  One capsule appearing every 15 minutes or so, it seemed that not only were the miners relieved to be out of that cave 2000 feet below the surface, but the crowd of families, miners, rescue workers and Chile's President were exuberant with joy. Education, mine in particular, has always been among those things at the top of my List of Zillions for which I'm grateful. I'll admit that it has only been recently that I haven't been pursuing one avenue of formal education or another.  My wife, a retired school counselor, says it was because I am gifted - interested in many subjects and, in the main, not restricted in the natural ability it takes to learn them.
