Being Right Isn't Always Satisfying I went on a listing appointment almost a year ago in a particular subdivision in Cibolo, TX.  I went armed with a professional presentation and the market analysis for the area that they lived in and my typical motivated self.  This was a fairly new subdivision and the market was stable but not truly booming in their area.  They had a fairly standard build and not a whole lot of upgrades, but I could market the home and make it look good.  I had discussed possible things they could do to get their home ready and we discussed the possible price range I felt that they could sell their home at to get results (based on actual data).  We had a wonderful conversation and I felt I had answered their questions and felt pretty confident that I had won the list... 05/10/2011

Junk, we don't need no stinkin' junk! Occasionally I come across homes that aren't exactly move in ready and I have to trade in my high heals for *work boots*.  Today was one of those days.  On this particular listing, the owner had already done lots of work to get it ready to sell.  He installed new  carpet, replaced all the laminate with ceramic tile, updated all the light fixtures and ceiling fans and had the home professionally cleaned.  The only thing left to do was clear out what was left in the garage.  The listing in question (seen below) is now READY FOR MOVE IN thanks to Junk King. Last week I finally did something I should have done a couple of years ago: I replaced the single-paned windows in my home office with double-paned ones. In the winter, my office is easily the coldest room in the house, since it was originally a covered patio, later enclosed. The cold temperature in the morning makes my computer hard to start. I'm not kidding. It took me hours of work, research, and frustration the last two winters trying to figure out why my hard drive wouldn't boot up properly. The problem would magically go away in the spring. Instead of replacing the computer, which was not even a year old when it first started to happen, I replaced the windows. They are an investment, not an expense. Now I am looking forward to much more pleasant working conditions and an even bet... 11/14/2010

How about some basics? -  They belong to the order Odonata, which means "toothed ones." -  There are 2,874 species of dragonflies worldwide, of which only 316 inhabit the United States. -  The largest modern-day dragonfly is the Australian Giant Petaltail, with a wingspan of up to 6.3 inches. I held an open house today, only had one visitor.  Was it successful? I say yes! I held an open house today at one of my listings that is located in a gated (restricted) retirement community.  I know what you are thinking...Who holds an open house in a community that has restricted access?  Well, the HOA in this particular community is kind enough to hold a neighborhood open house once a month.  They invite all agents and homeowners who are selling their houses to hold them open and they allow the public open access to the neighborhood and lodge facilities.  Today was their monthly open house so I did my advertising, purchased some munchies and beverages, printed my brochures and got all snazzed up for my big event.  Out went the signs and the balloons and open we were!  So was my two h... 09/26/2010

  I planted two rose bushes this spring in my organic garden in Cibolo, Texas. They are both heritage roses from the Antique Rose Emporium, and so far, I am very happy with them. This one has had fewer flowers than the other, probably because it is in partial shade until late afternoon. They are antique roses, so the full blooms don't have the typical tea rose shape you see in florists' arrangements. Instead, they open quickly to show their hearts, and they smell wonderful. In a couple of days, the petals will have crinkled up and blown away. 07/18/2010
