Nothing speaks more to Real Estate Recovery than business' being rehabed or new business' coming into a community. Here is the latest photos of Sonic it looks like they will be finished soon with the store. Here the crew is doing a sidewalk pour. The new building in the back ground will soon be bricked or stuccoed. I can't remember if the owner told me he was going to brick it or stucco it... it doesn't matter it will look great. You who live in Alvin and need a job... they are now taking applications for staffing of the new building. Remember the early bird gets the worm.

When I was a little girl we lived in many very small homes. I am sure my love of different homes started there as we lived in many though out my childhood. Any military brat will tell you how hard it is to move from place to place and all the different housing you get sent to. My dad was a soldier stationed near Columbus, Georgia where I was born. In the picture to the right I must have been at least three years old since that was when I started growing hair. My earliest recognition was of standing in a back bedroom of our home in Columbus and seeing an unknown man stroll across our unfenced back yard. It scared me so bad I ran to my mom who was in the "parlor". That is the only thing I remember from being that young. The next house that I remember living in was a three-room shotgun hou...

It is really hot outside, 98-degrees and the humidity is off the charts. Inside the smelly foreclosed home it must be 125-degrees for sure. This is the fifth foreclosed home we have been into. My clothes are clinging to me because they are all sweaty wet. A thing a lady like me doesn't like. Mr. Serious Buyer, my client, looks appreciatively around and says I like this house, but you know I really like to see just 2 or 3 more. Then I will make my decision as to which one I want. Seriously? Has not the first 100 other homes I have shown you enough? I put on my serious looking face on and you can hear the click of the trigger in my Capri Pants pocket. "Mr. Serious Buyer... You can see a million homes, but there will always be another over the horizon. If you wait too long the house you re...

After writing my last post... "Sign Riders" I got to thinking, you know that may not be too funny. Only those of you who know me on LinkedIn know that I worked at a bank in the Houston area for almost eight years. That bank had many prestigious customer's and we were told if they want it, just about everything goes... We had many unique people working there...the nicest was Miss Kitterick... do you older guys remember her when she was part of the Cadet Don Show the first children's day show in Houston? There are many pictures of her but I think they are all copyrighted. You will have to Google her....but I regress.. Well, I had a customer there who would come in everyday and look at his checks. He would look at them and count them and note to whom and how much they were for. I didn't th...

Well July 4th will be rolling around the corner one more time and that means that my husband and I have been married 31 years.   We decided to get married on the 4th of July so that he would be assured of having that "special" day off. At the time he was a construction worker and construction workers get very few holidays off. We knew the 4th would be one that would be observed. It's been a long haul and lots of laughs. There were some anniversaries that I couldn't believe that I hadn't killed him yet.... LOL What I mean is that I can be hard to live with. He threw his fair share of punches too....we have come out grinning with a few teeth missing but we are happy.  LOL I need to insert a disclamier here that I have a wonderful husband whose made my life wonderful. Thanks Love!

Well I went out and purchased my dad his favorite gift for Fathers Day... a huge bag of mixed nuts. The man loves nuts. I know this is a crazy gift but he needs nothing and really wants nothing. So buying for him has gotten really hard. Some of you may already relate to this issue. But you younger guys...just you wait. There will come a time when you will be in the same shoes some of us are. IN ANY CASE.... So if you are looking for a lease or a new home so good ole dad can move in with you...be sure to click on one of the icons below to contact me. I can help you find just the right home for you and your dad!

Do you know what I love most about ART? It is the colors... I love color! Ever since I was a little girl I was fascinated with Crayola Crayons. My favorite past time when I was little was shopping for school supplies. Especially the Crayons. Now as an adult I love to shop for office supplies but I always find time to go to the Crayon department and look at all the colors. I always buy crayons to have at the house and I use them often. Especially when my grand kids are around to help me color... hehehe Know that I was aware that there was such a thing as colored chalk. What I did not know is that Crayola now has their own brand of colored chalk. What I plan to do is get a kiddie bag together consisting of washable crayolas and a color book for my clients children who have to come along t...

Earlier this month, June 2nd, to be precise I wrote a post, "Sonic Post Dos Mas" about the Sonic Drive In being torn down and being replaced... Well the work is progressing quite well. I was showing homes in Alvin and drove by and noticed that all of the concrete driveway which had earlier been crushed into chunks had now been cleared and the underground plumbing was being installed. I doubled back to take a picture so all of you could see the progression. I asked one of my inspector friends what was going to happen to all that crushed chunked concrete... where would it go to a land fill? He said no...all big chunked concrete goes to the drainage district. They use it to stabilize the sides of the large drainage ditches. Most of this type of concrete is free and it is cheaper than buyin...

On Monday I went to Arlington Texas to see my son. I had not seen him since January and this is his first time living away for me and his father. I must admit that we are having a harder time letting him go than he is of us. I guess that is the way it is with all boys. On the trip up there from Houston, I noticed that many farmers are now planting giant sun flowers. I love to eat sun flower seeds and was amazed at the beauty at seeing so many sunflowers all in one place. People I am talking about fields and fields of sun flowers. I didn't get to take a picture of the fields but use your imagination with the one picture I do have of sun flowers.
