Do you live in a city where the cops put their scare tactics out there for everyone to see?  The cops in College Station, Texas are often quoted to be like "Nazis."  I guess that is due to the fact that we are a college town.  We have 50,000 students that live here in addition to the 190,000 + residents between Bryan and College Station.  The students are attending either to Texas A&M University or Blinn College.  There are about 45,000 students attending Texas A&M, and about 5,000 attending Blinn College.  If you know nothing about Texas A&M or the Aggies....They love to party!  We hold national and state records in the for beer sales, Minors In Possession, and Public Intoxication.  That's something to be proud of?!?!?  I guess the local cops like to put the scare in everyone in order ...

The Brazos River was called the "Rio de los Brazos de Dios" by early Spanish explorers, which can be translated as "The Arms of God," according to Handbook of Texas. What a wonderful rich heritage we have here in the Brazos Valley! The early Spanish explorers knew that river was very special when they first laid eyes on it! If you read articles about the history of Brazos County, you will realize that the settlement and growth was akin to that of a small country. People came from near & far to settle here. If you know any interesting stories about the early settlement of The Brazos Valley, we would love to her them here.

Tips: 1.      If you do not have any listings, offer to do open houses for other agents or sign up in your Market Center.2.      Saturdays at 9:00-2:00 are a good time to hold open houses.  Open houses that begin at 9:00 a.m. will catch people on their way to the grocery store or yard sales.  Sundays at 1:00-4:00 are also a good time to do open houses.3.      If you want to hold an open house during the week, you can certainly do so, but talk to the listing agent.  Be sure to take work with you; e.g. blank note cards, your mobile telephone so you can invite people from your Sphere of Influence to stop by (it's a great way to start a prospecting conversation), a good book, etc.4.      You may want to place an ad in your local newspaper; if so, get your ad copy into your local newspaper e...

Parents Weekend is coming up April 13-15th, 2007.  Parents weekend has a two fold purpose.  It was originally instituted in 1919 to help the corp boys mothers so they would't worry so much about their sons.  It still helps the parents realize that Texas A&M is a great place to be!  The other purpose is to show appreciation to those parents that send their kids here.  It's a busy time for the town and the campus.  Many activities happen during the weekend including the Bevo Burn BBQ, happening Friday the 13th.  For $7 you get BBQ, chips, a cookie and drink.  Variety Shows, concerts, 5 and 10K runs through Messina Hoff Wineries, and Midnight Yell are some of the fun things that will be happening this year.If you have a home to sell that would be priced below 170K, in a neighborhood with e...
