While there's no Sam Malone (Ted Danson), Norm Peterson (George Wendt) or Carla Tortelli (Rhea Perlman) at the Vitruvian Park Tavern, there is the smiling proprietor, Craig Vaught, happily serving up drinks and eats at this upscale neighborhood hangout. It is located at 3870 Ponte Avenue in Addison, Texas, just north of the red bridge. I was there recently for a real estate networking function and got to experience VPT first hand. The event planners provided drinks and appetizers and I can personally vouch for the frozen pina colada, served in a pineapple glass, and the mouth-watering fried cauliflower. The kitchen is open from 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm and the bar from 2:00 pm til midnight. Once upon a time, there used to be an unsightly Super 8 Motel on Beltway Drive in Addison, Texas just west of Midway Road. The motel burned down several years ago and eventually what remained of the motel was bulldozed. The lot was listed for sale, but sat vacant.Over a year ago, Cobalt Homes began discussions with the owner of the property about purchasing the lot. In February, these developers of small, infill communities reached out to the nearby home owners to get some input. As if in a fairy tale, they actually listened to the residents and made changes to their plans based upon those suggestions. Friends, food, fun, and fireworks! Every July 3rd, the Town of Addison, a Dallas Texas suburb, celebrates Independence Day by hosting Kaboom Town. It's rated in the top 10 fireworks displays in the country by the American Pyrotechnics Association. And two years ago, it was ranked as the #2 best in the nation.  This year, I got an invitation to the event's VIP area. The tickets provided us a delicious dinner of pulled pork or brisket sandwich, with mac & cheese, baked beans, and red, white, and blue popcorn, plus drinks. {Sorry - no photo of the dinner; it was eaten before I remembered to take a picture.
