I had the pleasure to join Keller Williams Murfreesboro 4 weeks ago. I have to admit I was very nervous joining a new market center, new real estate agents, and a new city. I had only visited Murfreesboro, TN a few times since I moved to Middle Tennessee 11 years ago.The location Murfreesboro is perfect. KW Murfreesboro is located 2 red lights down from I-24 on St. Andrews Drive. The Murfreesboro area is growing with the KW Murfreesboro office closed over 10m in closed volume in February.Make it a great day!Jamie WilliamsKeller Williams Realty Murfreesboro615.895.8000KWMurfreesboro.com

HINT:  KABOOM!! ANSWER:  The homeowner installed a free-standing gas stove in the living room as an after market device.  Then he placed the supporting propane tank on the opposite side of the wall and ran the gas line into the crawl space and up into the living room.  Now look at that picture and imagine a fire that starts in the house at the new fireplace.  How long will it take the heat and eventual flame to reach the propane tank?  Minutes?  Before the fire department shows up?  Probably.  Now imagine how large the explosion will be when the tank goes.  The good news is that the explosion will probably blow the fire out as well.  The bad news is that any people or other homes nearby will suffer greatly. There are rules for locating propane tanks relative to the structure and the pro...

Financial Peace of Mind It's that dreaded time of the year again, time to start preparing your tax returns. And since 2008 was one of the toughest years in the history of our financial markets, this also may be a time that many of us learn exactly how much of a hit our investments and retirement accounts actually took this year. With this in mind, the most practical financial advice we can offer right now is to consider a Certified Public Accountant. An experienced CPA not only helps you navigate complex tax codes to save you money and possibly additional financial losses, he or she can also offer a new perspective on your financial goals and needs, providing a peace of mind that we can all really use right now, especially if you're one of many Americans who suffered significant loss...

Just a quick word for the new year.  As the media (groan!) continues to tell us that the sky is falling and we see colleagues retire licenses, where is your heart and mind??  Markets like the one we are in can certainly lead to desperation, but our response to that desperation will define our character and ultimately our success in real estate and in life.  As for me, I am hungry and I am rolling uo my sleeves and getting busy.  I know that my fellow active rainer's will also!  Hope to see you on the other side.  As this market drive the less serious away (you know, the ones that think real estate is easy) the opportunity for the rest of us will grow.  Be hopeful, be persistent, and take care of your clients.  Good luck in 2009!                       Kim

Living in Murfreesboro has a whole lot of benefits, if your thinking of moving, this is the place you want to be! My last five years in Murfreesboro have been very enjoyable and I have found many things in this town that I absolutely love.  A year and a half ago Lisa and I got our first dog, Charlie a Dalmatian. Then about 10 months ago we got Olivia, a Beautiful chocolate Cocker Spaniel! Since getting our two pups, I wanted to share some of the best things for pet lovers that I know about! First off, you will love The "Bark Park" even the biggest backyard can't compare to the amount of fun your pups will have running, playing, wrestling, barking and sniffing they will get to do at the Bark Park. At any given time there are several canines out there to play with.  Its a great way to mee...

Last week my partner Lisa Walters and I were on a listing appointment for an auction that was referred to us by Bob Parks Realty agent Mike Dugan.  On the way home we began to talk about the differences between auctions in Murfreesboro and throughout the majority of Middle Tennessee as compared to other parts of the country where we work.  It was the first time I realized most people have no clue of the differences. First, there are two types of auctions; "Absolute" and "Reserve". The difference between the two is that at an Absolute Auction, the property will sell to the highest bidder regardless of price.  A Reserve Auction is exactly that, an auction with a reserve price, the seller has a right to accept or reject the final bid.  In different pockets of the country one is always more...

Today I had to make a trip to Murfreesboro Tennessee. With the rising cost of gas, I made a point to compair the prices of gas on my way back to Clarksville.  What I seen for the most part was a steady price average of $3.99 in most locations. Now there were some questions on the thoughts of price gouging.  See the photos below. What is the most interesting is the difference in the prices here and all 3 are with in sight of each other. The Kwik Sak and the Shell can both be seen from the BP Station. At the Shell, you can buy Regular for $3.71 while the Kwik Sak is $4.49  ??? Your thoughts ? I also have pictures along I-24 today from Exit 1 to 40...  What is amazing is the same company has a variety of pricing along the way.
