Mt. Juliet residents have a place to let their dogs “hang out”               Mt. Juliet’s “Bark Park” is a ¾ acre piece of property inside the South Mt. Juliet City Park that is open and available for residents to visit with their dogs.  Many dog owners love to socialize their dogs by letting them play with others.  This park is the prefect space for that.               The park’s address is 151 Southeast Springdale  Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.  Just minutes from the Providence Marketplace.   Click here for a map  http://bit.ly/iauKHy               There are a few rules that should be followed to ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone and every pet.  A full list of these can be found on the Mt. Nashville Home Inspection - Roof Inspection - Fishmouthing, What is That? Look at the picture below.  Can you see the fishmouthing? Find the raised shingles and you have found the fishmouthing shingles.  They are the raised shingles in a random pattern.  These shingles have raised up in the middle and create a cosmetic flaw when observed from below.  The cause of fishmouthing is usually elevated moisture below the shingles which is caused by poor attic ventilation.  Plus, poor attic ventilation causes the shingles to heat up and "cook", which can contribute to the distorted shingle and can also cause the shingle to age prematurely.  The answer, proper attic ventilation.   Mt. Juliet is a community full of heart.  In the past year Mt. Juliet has lost two young girls (Savannah Swandal from cancer and Ava Bright from complications after tonsil surgery), causing our community to unite and try to lift up the families of these girls.  Seas of bright green ribbons covered houses, cars and mailboxes; and people everywhere wore lime green.  Everyone did this in the hopes that Savannah’s family would feel supported.   This Saturday, April 2nd, another Mt. Juliet family will honor the memory of their daughter, Avalyn Shaye Bright, with Ava’s Run for a Reason at Charlie Daniel’s Park.  The Bright family founded the Avalyn Shaye Foundation in order to complete a number of things they thought would bring joy to the children in Mt. Juliet as well as families facing t...

Nashville Home Inspector - Gas Line Meter Barrier - What's Wrong With This Picture? HINT:  I suppose it could stop a small car?! ANSWER:  The idea behind a barrier to protect the gas line and meter is to stop most vehicles that might drive up to this setting before they can hit the meter or line.  This might work for a Yugo, but a Suburban or F-150 would probably hit the gas line and meter even before it hits the barrier, especially if backing up.  Or they might even run over the barrier and really paste the meter.  At least move the barrier back away from the gas system another 2 feet or so.  Better yet, install a couple of bollard posts or a raised metal barricade like you see on the freeways. Thank you, Richard Acree http://habitecinspections.com Comments in this blog posting are the...

The current ActiveRain policy prevents including a website url address in our signature blocks on comments.  I think this is an opportunity lost. Some Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experts (like SEO for Dummies) say that a key component of improving SEO performance is to include your website address in all online articles (blogs or comments) intended for internet use.  That way your website is attached to the blogs and articles of others and that expands and enhances your visibility on the internet. I think this technique could elevate the organic search engine results of any who choose to use it.  In fact, I suggest that if everyone on ActiveRain included their website address in their comment signature block then the organic search engine results of the entire ActiveRain Community ...
