A recent AP/AOL poll released this week shows a shocking and almost disheartening reflection of America's willingness to purchase a home. The poll recognized that over 60% of qualified home buyers said that they will not purchase a home in the next 2 years, up from 53% just two years ago.The biggest reason that the poll identified as to why these qualified buyers aren't buying is because that can't afford the loss on the home they are in now. So, let me put this into prospective for you.First of all, the country is currently going through a credit crisis. People can't get credit because banks and lenders tightened their standards for lending due to the fall of the sub-prime market. This credit tightening / crisis knocks out a lot of potential buyers who have fair to relatively good cred...

The Ridgemere Subdivision is located in the heart of Hermitage. Ridgemere is ideally situated just off the intersection of Old Lebanon Dirt Rd and Andrew Jackson Pkwy. This community offers convenient access to Hwy I40, and major thoroughfares like Old Hickory Blvd and Lebanon Road. With easy access to the Nashville Star commuter rail and only 25 minutes from downtown during the work week and only 15 minutes from Nashville International Airport, this community is a commuters dream. Those of us who live here in Hermitage enjoy the wonderful recreation available to us. We have our pick of 2 large recreational bodies of water, Percy Priest Lake or The Cumberland River both less than 15 minutes in either direction. I thought this was a fitting blog considering I am having some roof work done to my home this week. I hear these horrible stories about home improvement contractors gone bad and I am hell bent to make sure this doesn't happen to me. So, let me tell you about some of the steps I have done to ensure I am getting quality work at a reasonable price. Get Referrals:  Referrals aren't 100% guaranteed that your not going to get a shady, low down dirty shame of a contractor however, it's a great way to start to lessen the risk of a getting a bad contractor. I got my referral from my insurance agent. He explained that this contractor was legitimate and, it had to be in order to be a preferred vendor of his. He also explained that he has worked with this vendor for years and trusted that he would ...

C-O-M-P-E-T-I-O-N that is the key to your success when shopping for a mortgage. Don't assume that just because the lender said you wouldn't find a better deal elsewhere, that he is right. Remember these bullet points and you will fair better than most. Mortgage products are diversified as your local grocery store cereal isle. Did you know that most bank and lenders have hundreds of different mortgage options however, only a handful are ever talked about at the table with the mortgage broker. Ask to see what the bank or lender is offering. Most banks and lenders have a list with all their mortgage products written down with a brief description of how they work.Just because mortgage broker John Doe with ABC Bank says the "Super Duper Mortgage Program" with his bank is the best for you doe...

It isn't anything new to hear about how gas prices are going up and home sales are down however, have you ever wondered if a correlation between the two exists? I can't tell you if one does or doesn't, I simply haven't seen any solid research to suggest that anyone has ever even asked the question however, lets take a look at what we know.As long as our energy consumption revolves around petroleum we can expect prices to continue to rise. It's the simple law of supply and demand. It is widely accepted that the Earth has peaked in its production of petro however, our consumption has not. China, India and Russia are growing at alarming rates and, with that growth comes unprecedented consumption of petro. What you may not know, it took America 30+ years to build our interstate system. Chin...
