Lunch & Learn's 'On The Road' Workshop-A Success The Roane County Chamber and SCORE took the popular Lunch and Learn Workshop on the road, holding it this month at Mountains to Lakes Real Estate in Harriman. This workshop, appropriately titled-How to Delight Your Customers-was presented to a large and enthusiastic crowd, who were delighted to attend in a different location.  I was delighted to have the privilege of hosting the first lunch and learn held off site.  This popular workshop, presented by Dana Peterka of SCORE, also provided attendees a chance to hear from Darrell Williams, Chamber Membership Services, about Chamber benefits and from Pam May, Tourism Manager, of the benefits of being located in Roane County where visitors spent over $56 milliion in 2009. 1st Annual Bowers Elementary 5K Run/Walk for Education Saturday March 12, 2011 Registration 8:00 a.m. Race Starts at 9:00 a.m. Location of Race:  120 Breazeale Street (Bowers Elementary) Harriman, TN  37748 Awards:  Trophies will be given for overall female and male. The Princess Theater located in Downtown Harriman, TN is in the midst of a huge revitalization to the tune of approximately 1.7 million dollars.  The theater is where both of my girls had their first jobs.  They served up popcorn, candy and drinks.  I think the Princess had the best popcorn I've ever had!  With the revitalization of the theater there is also many other things happening in town.  The new bakery 'Great Bakes Cookies and Cakes' plans to open April 1st (and that's no joke).  Beside the bakery will be an antique/gift shop.  I believe that within a year downtown will have a whole new look.  Take a look at this video, it's really pretty cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EOiPiF6a2U 02/14/2011

Harriman Happenings There are many things going on in Harriman, Tennessee right now.  the bakery has been sold and a new owner is about to open up...Great Bakes, Cookies and Cakes. One side will be a bakery and the other side will be an antique and gift shop. the Princess Theater will be opening this spring with a 1.7 million dollar renovation. It will be run by Roane State Community College as an arena for performing arts. I'm about to purchase my own building and renovate the old Giles Building (which used to be owned my my great grandmother). The street level will be Mountains to Lakes Real Estate, Inc.
