This blessing is for all the mothers who have sat up all nightwith sick toddlers saying, "It's OK honey, Mommy's here."This blessing is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they maynever see. And the mothers who took those babies-- forever to betheir own children. This blessing is for all the mothers who attended ball games, recitals, rehearsals, etc. etc. and who said, "I wouldn't havemissed it for the world," and meant it.This blessing is for all the mothers of Kosovo who fled in thenight and can't find their children or can't feed their children.Creator God, what makes a good mother anyway? Think one Mother's Day a year simply isn't enough? Well, I agree in the interests of exploring other cultures and customs.  My grandmother came from France with her family when she was 8 years old.  I am always interested in what that culture has in store.  All of us Moms can get a second dose of attention by celebrating France's Fête des Mères on May 25. A French tradition that was inaugurated by Napoleon and made official in 1950, this day honoring mothers dates back to Ancient Greece and is found in several countries. In France, the tradition calls for a variety of honors for mother. She might receive a gift from her children, or the children might let mom (or mère) relax, and, as all things in France, it usually culminates in a large dinner in mom's honor. These dinners are usually ...

After a long hard day of shopping for that perfect home it's always nice to sit down at Blondie's and have a bite to eat!  It's a great place and I take my clients there often.  Whether you want a bit of handmade honey and nut cream cheese on your breakfast bagel or a slice of delectable carrot cake for a midday dessert, a little downtown eatery called Blondie's is the place to go. Sandwiches and coffees are their specialties. When thinking deli sandwiches, one often thinks of "Dagwood's," those heaping stacks of fillings scrunched between slices of bread. Blondie's, while serving ample sandwiches, does it with a lighter hand, a delicate touch that is nonetheless filling and satisfying. Apart from its wonderful food, Blondie's has a little something extra to offer its patrons: a chance ...

We have scoured through the financial reports for the week and we wanted to share the information with you. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance to you and your valued clients. Monday's bond market has opened fairly flat despite stock weakness. The major stock indexes are showing losses with the Dow down 53 points and the NASDAQ down 6 points. The bond market is currently down 3/32, which will likely push this morning's mortgage rates higher by approximately .125 of a discount point ov...

Gas Prices in TenesseeInteresting fact in Tennessee LawFederal Gas Tax Holiday Won't Help Tennesseans   From News Channel 5Did you know that if the Federal government were to actually place a mortitorium on the .18 per gallon gas tax that the State of Tenneesse has to raise the Tennessee Gas Tax by .18 Now if the Federal Government does place a mortitorium on the gas tax and the BIG OIL COMPANIES decide to raise their prices yet again... The Tennesseans will get hit in the pocket once again. What I find hard to believe is that the BIG OIL COMPANIES are setting RECORD PROFITS and we the consumers are struggling to keep our vehicles on the road. When will the BIG OIL COMPANIES actually take a loss ?  Ever notice when there is a threat of a bad storm... What happens to gas prices ?  YES.......

Home Owners Beware - National Deed Services IncTonight on News Channel 5 there was a report on another scam coming to your mailbox.  National Deed Services Inc out of Northbrook, Illinois is sending letters on how to obtain a copy of your deed for your home. They are charging $59.50 and it can take over a month to recieve your copy. In reality you can get a copy of your deed at the Register of Deeds office for much less. It only takes a few minutes to go into the Register of Deeds office and get a copy of your deed. Here in Clarksville I believe you only pay like .25 per page and you can walk out with a copy of your deed. Please DO NOT fall prey to this company. The letter makes it sound as if you really need to get a copy right away. The truth of it all is every home purchased has the ...

"While cleanup continues in the wake of four tornadoes that struck Clarksville early Saturday morning, some questions remain unanswered.Among them: what will be done with the Wilma Rudolph Pavilion at Fairgrounds Park, which was destroyed by an F1 tornado that touched down just after 12:40 a.m. Saturday.City Chief of Staff Jim Durrett said there are no current plans to rebuild the pavilion, but added that the next month should solidify details about the multi-purpose pavilion's future."It's kind of premature," Durrett said of rebuilding plans. "We're still in the recovery mode trying to get the building cleaned up and the park cleaned up."Durrett said the pavilion was built in the early 1980s and had a unique structure, featuring wooden construction with laminated beams.Durrett said som...

"Splinters. That just about all that's left of the pavilion at the Clarksville Fairgrounds. At one corner, a two story chunk of storage and office space stands roofless and open to the elements, a stairway now wide open and rail-less, coming and going nowhere. The parking lot is cordoned off for utility vehicle only: phone, electric, and assorted repair and or demolition crews with cherry pickers for high wire work. Pieces of the building have been pushed into a pile not unlike a tossed up package of children's "pick up sticks." Lumber littered the roadside and a good portion of the pavilion was blown across the street, pieces blended in a Cole Slaw mix with tree limbs and downed power lines. The finely shredded roofing shingles were generously laced throughout the chain link fence at b...

Living in Clarksville, TN has been one of the most rewarding times of my life.  I feel such a commitment to the military and to the support of our families here at home.  I was recently made aware that Caleb Campbell has gotten a free ride as far as his military careet is concerned and it makes me very angry.  Tell me what you think?Roger Staubach was one of the greatest quarterbacks in National Football League history. However, as a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he honored his commitment to his country by serving four years as a naval officer, one year in Vietnam, before enjoying the riches of playing in the NFL.Enter Caleb Campbell, a recent graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, where he played for the Army team. In the recent NFL draft, Cadet Campbell was selected to play for ...
