Brentwood, TN is known for its green spaces and abundant wildlife. It is not uncommon to see deer, coyotes, foxes and other forms of wildlife around the many creeks and ponds in this area. I had read some articles about an albino deer being in the area, and this morning I was fortunate enough to capture a few shots as it scurried away from the pond behind the house. I hope that you enjoyed them as much as I enjoyed sharing... Join my birthday alarm. It is fast painless and the best part of all, you will be helping me out. Feeling like your blog doesn't fit in? Brentwood tn real estate - The city of Brentwood would like to educate the rest of the world as to how environmental friendly we can be. City Commissioner Alex Nobel is calling for the forming of an environmental steering committee by the city. If you don't live Tennessee, you wouldn't know that the city of Brentwood has always been the cleanest in the state, and is very careful to preserve the Brentwood parks and greenspaces throughout the city. It's a little bit of a surprise that Brentwood would need a steering committee for something that they have already done very well thoughout the years. If nothing else, they could use this opportunity to tell the rest of the world  how great a place Brentwood really is. Some would rather keep Brentwood a secret. To search for Brentwood tn real ...

I like to inspect older experienced houses. They have been around for awhile, and if walls could talk, I am sure that they would have a lot of interesting tales to tell. Tales like how this garage lighting system came about. Were the lights something that the neighbor was throwing away or did they actually go to a home un-improvement store and actually purchase these? How about the extension cords? Are they left overs from a mishap with the lawn mower or were they scavenged from someone's trash bin just in time to have a second life as a fire hazard?  What ever the case, unhandy man wiring such as this is really whacked and jacked and one of the main causes for house fires and electrocutions.  Although well intended, loose, improperly terminated wiring without the proper strain relief c...

Brentwood tn real estate - Builders in Williamson county were slow to catch on, but now they get it. When the market slows, you had better slow your building with it, or you will have a lots of homes for sale and no buyers. The end result may be losing your compnay. Building permits in Brentwood are down from 495 in 2006, 283 in 2007, and 78 in 2008. The highest year ever for Brentwood building permits was 2004 with 635. From a consumer's point of view, here is what you need to know. The inventory levels for homes over $500,000 are higher than normal. Homes are selling at a large discount compared to the past, and you have a good selection. If you buy now. If you wait, eventually all of these conditions will change. Builders are waiting for the inventory levels to drop. When the invento...

Brentwood TN Homes For Sale http://www.trulia.com/voices/marketcrisis/     Seniors are one of the top targets of 'foreclosure rescue specialists' for a variety of reasons. If you are a senior, you've probably lived in your home for a long time and have built up a substantial amount of home equity in the process. Even a fraction of that amount is a very attractive sum for a scammer and they may attempt to scam you out of it in a variety of ways.                                   It's probably not easy for you to get a loan from a lender of bank, if you are a senior facing the threat of foreclosure. It can be difficult to find somebody who will offer you a second loan on a fixed income or pension, without pledging any collateral. This is where a con artist steps in, offering to refinance...

Williamson county has always had a lot of recreational cyclist, but now that fuel has become a little more expensive, and sometimes harder to find, you seem them more during rush hour. Unfortunately, our roads do not have a lane for bikers, and people are usually surprised when they come up on a biker moving at a mush slower pace that the rest of the traffic.  I know that Brentwood has bike paths that are recreational in nature, and really aren't designed to get you to work, so if recreation is your plan, it's a good way to go. Using your bike to commute in the Nashville area may be more dangerous than going to war. One biker has already died this summer riding in Franklin, so please be careful, and obey the laws.  I personally have almost hit a biker who ran s stop sign when I didn't e...

I had the distinct pleasure of teaching a blogging class at Mere Bulles last week.  Located at 5201 Maryland Way in Brentwood, TN, ( 37027 ) Mere Bulles gives an upscale Southern dining experience to anyone who eats there! As soon as you arrive, the elegant Southern-Plantation-like House welcomes you.  It's huge front porch and its Southern charm interior really make you want to stay awhile! The lunch menu ranges in price from a salad for $6.99 on up to a filet mignon for $17.99.  I had fruit tea (always a plus for this southern girl), a salad, the Charleston She Crab Bisque (um, can I get another bowl of that please?) and the rib rolls (shaved prime rib, jack and cheddar cheese, horseradish cream sauce, au jus).  They even handmake their own potato chips.  It was a delicious meal.  I r...

Rates dipped on Monday but have shot up since. Today we are about .375% higher than last week except for FHA which is the best rate out there. As I am sure you heard; the Fed held the Funds Rate steady so Prime is still at 5%. I am happy with this decision as I believe a strong dollar is the #1 priority for our economy at this point in time. Also, although we may not be feeling it yet, we will see gas prices drop as oil has fina...

This didn’t do much for jumbo products, as Fannie and Freddie don’t play in that game, but it lowered conforming loans a good bit. Even with a little rebound yesterday, we are about .375% lower this week on the 30 year than we were last week. How long will the rates stay lower and will they get even better? Only time will tell. The government is not as efficient at running programs like the private sector (alt...

As much as the media belly-aches about our economy, it is actually moving along at a nice clip and, although painful in some sectors. This is especially true when compared to the rest of the world. If you don’t believe me, consider this. The first thing we talk about in Econ 101 is “Opportunity Costs”. That new car is awesome but there was an opportunity cost of many thousands of dollars to get it. Just because you had to spend your money doesn’t mean you made a bad choice (as long as you can afford it). The same is true in every aspect of our economy. The do...

As you may remember, the total combined output of our national economy is how we measure if we are in a recession. Our goal is to grow output at a continual rate of 2-4%. If the output actually goes into the negative for two quarters in a row, we consider that a “Recession.” Some states may be see local recessions but the country on a whole is what we look at. As of yet, as much as our media would like you to think, WE ARE NOT IN A RECESSION and just got news today that the GDP grew at 3.3% despite th...

Jumbo 30 years are getting harder to find in the 6’s but besides that, we are in pretty good shape. To reiterate some past week’s updates, the value of the US dollar is rising as oil continues to come down in price along with all the other commodities, seller funded DPA is pretty much a thing of the past, and the $7500 tax rebate/loan is getting more bad press.   Links: http://www.cnbc.com/id/26197071

We are bringing down the wall.   Mitchell and Jamie with THE Construction did a great job of keeping the mess down during this construction job.  We are still living in this area - whether it was a good idea or not.  With four kids, we tried to keep the days without a kitchen down to a minimum. I am serving as my own general contractor and I am getting a feel for how much skill and effort is involved with that job.  (Be kind to your favorite GC and don't fuss about their fees!)  I had to make an emergency call to Rains Electric to take the wiring out of this wall.  Who knew that had to be done before we could pull out those studs?!?  :-)
