San Tan Valley derives its name from the nearby San Tan Mountains. The origin of the name San Tan is disputed, with suggestions ranging from a corruption of the name Santa Ana to the last name of George Santan, prior postmaster in nearby Gila County. Previously referred to as San Tan Heights, San Tan Foothills, Greater San Tan and simply the San Tan Area, the community lacked any official name and residents used nearby Queen Creek for their mailing addresses. To coincide with the addition of a new ZIP code for the community on July 1, 2009, the United States Postal Service was petitioned to provide the area with a new name. As part of the initial request, "Bella Vista" name was submitted to the postal service, drawing the ire of some local residents who opposed the suggested name. In re...

Travels in Real Estate- Regina Canada- Part 2  Click on link: Travels in Real Estate Regina Canada Part 1.  I was going through some of the photos we took on our trip. I forgot my camera cord at home when I left for Regina Canada so I could not download the photos from my camera to my laptop until I got back. I did take photos and video with my iPhone once I realized I did not have my camera cord. I had planned to take a ton of photos and do a whole series of all the sights of Regina Canada but on my third day there, I fell terribly ill and was confined to a bed the next 3 days.  Here is a photo I took from the plane as we left Ft Lauderdale. You can see the beach along the coast in this photo.  Here is another Ft Lauderdale photo on the day we left, January 20, 2011:  While on the plan...

Travels In Real Estate- Regina Saskatchewan- Part 1 Well, we arrived here in Regina Canada on Thursday. When we arrived here it was -48 Celcius which is super cold in Fahrenheit.  Our little guy and I grabbed a Limousine at the airport to take us to our oldest son's house to see our brand new grand baby!  When we were getting packed up looking for warm clothing in Florida to come up here with I kept telling our little guy that it was going to be cold. Since he has never seen or been in snow and he does not like to be cold in Florida I was trying so hard to get him to understand this concept of super cold.  That was a waste of my persuasion techniques because he has not been cold at all since he has been here. He LOVES the snow! We learned quickly that at this time of year you wait to ge...

In the Triangle area and across the country, more families are enjoying spending more time at home while not giving up the entertainment that they enjoy.  The trend which spans game rooms to multimedia rooms is becoming more popular as it allow and allows families more time to bond together at home.  This area in the home is very unique to each home owner and boasts their likes.  It is not uncommon for sports enthusiasts to create a space decorated with their favorite team colors, accented by a large screen TV and to host numerous game day parties more economically than if everyone went to the stadium.  Of course, with the advent of the Wii, people who like to watch sports can actually "participate." If professional sports are not what your family is into, you can still create  a game r...
