Who would have expected a rodeo event in Indian Land, South Carolina just south of Charlotte's upscale Ballantyne area?  Even after living in Ballantyne on the Indian Land border for for 17 years I had no idea. Indian Land has always had a rich horse culture and many horse farms, but rodeo events, not so much.  Home sales in the Walnut Creek neighborhood of Indian Land/Lancaster in South Carolina, just south of Charlotte's Ballantyne area continue to soar. The number of homes sold in Walnut Creek in 2017 were just over 18% higher than in 2016 per Carolina MLS statistics. New construction remains a major force in Walnut Creek, representing more than 50% of total sales for the past three years. And prices for the last two years have increased substantially over 2015.  Because such a big percentage of homes sold in Walnut Creek are new construction, the numbers below which come from Carolina Multiple Listing Service don't fully capture all the sales as many are never entered into the MLS system.
