Wild Nor'easter Hit us Hard in RI.  Not only was it the up to 20 inches of snow (although CT received more) but it was the wild Northeast wind.  It was not the day to take the car out but instead shovel the paths, wave the plow guy down with a steaming cup of coffee(it worked), do some blogging, connect with customers and yes, Barbara Todaro I did bake cookies! North Kingstown RI 02852 Short Sales - are Homes for Sale in North Kingstown and account for 11 of the North Kingstown homes for sale out of the current inventory of 156 homes on the market now.  All the homes are under $260,000 and range from colonials to raised ranches to ranch homes. The little ruby red shoe that says 'there's no place like home' has a lot of meaning to me...for in my real estate business I have used it as part of my branding and tagging.  It does seem to fit well with me in my business, as my clients share this with me, and the color red is definitely my favorite color. Green energy are they just buzz words or will they get green into your wallet now?  Well if you want to take advantage of the home energy federal tax credits to the max you need to do them today, December 31, 2010.  These tax credits, up to $1500, are ending. To take full advantage of them they must be to an existing home & your principal residence. New construction and rental property do not qualify for the green energy tax savings this year. The $1,500 maximum tax credit does not apply to geothermal heat pumps, solar energy systems, and wind turbines .  These are all eligible for a 30% tax credit with no upper limit. It's the blizzard of December 2010 Rhode Island style and it's right here upon us...you can't even make it out the front door of my home without lead shoes on when that Northeast wind comes at you at 70 miles an hour! This is another in the pay it forward posts in one's community, North Kingstown RI in donating to the Local North Kingstown Food Pantry from my real estate office.  What have you done this week to pay it forward in some way to an individual or group I ask?   We had much discussion at the office where we were going to donate our large check to help out some local organization that would be sure to pass on 100% of it to those in need. This is another in the pay it forward posts in one's community, North Kingstown RI in just being neighborly and reaching out...have you done that today?  One of my elderly neighbors in the neighborhood has become somewhat housebound and although care givers come in a few times a week she doesn't get to go out.  I do believe some of this restriction to the home is self imposed since her Parkinson's disease has progressed and she certainly can no longer drive.  But it is healthy and better for her to be out and at least walking around a local store and seeing people. Pay it Forward -North Kingstown - Exeter Pet Refuge- No Kill Shelter is an extraordinary caring facility that accepts cats that can not be cared for anymore.  It may be due to financial hardships, loss of home, new landlord says no to them and it is wonderful to have a place with thoughtful volunteers who will take them in. It was time to bring a run of cat food to the North Kingstown -Exeter Pet Refuge for the holidays and to help out as best I could here.  This pet refuge truly makes pet owners who must relinquish their pets feel better at the parting of the animals.  It has to be a tough decision and one I have never had to do.  My large Maine Coon cat, Taylor, came from the North Kingstown Exeter pet refuge over a year ago and he has definitely established himself in my heart.  So ... 12/11/2010
