Skateboarding Winston the English Bulldog- Down time is Pool Time.  If you follow my blog you know that my son's girlfriend has an experienced skateboarding English bulldog named Winston.  Yes, Winston is obsessive about his favorite sport- skateboarding.  I have to ask her about why he hasn't tried surfboarding at our local Narragansett RI beach (the beach!)...I think he would be a natural at it...at least he should try boogie boarding. Well the weather has been oppressively hot for us New Englanders who are not use to consistent high 90's weather.  Winston has his own pool which he really likes to get in and cool off his well heeled paws.  It makes his day after skateboarding.  Wish I had my own pool!  To be a well heeled Bulldog....Skateboarding Winston the English Bulldog- Down time...

Odyssey of a Commercial Fisherman Boat Owner- What has this Government Done to Them?  Now you may say this blog post has nothing to do with real estate but I will disagree with you.  Just like real estate makes the country turn, so do our businesses that come under undue and unconscionable pressure and regulation by our government.  The RI commercial fishing industry was a large and profitable industry 30 years ago but it changed.  In the 1970's the U.S. had no care about the Russians taking all our fish 100 miles out from our shores and raping the oceans at large.  Our RI commercial fisherman complained but received little support from our RI representatives or our government to do anything about it.  Why?  if we did do anything as a country we couldn't have had our submarines snooping...

Google Maps - Embed a picture in your Google Map - Part II.  Google maps is a fun tool and I really have to thank Brad Andersohn for getting me to look at the map function in a different and useful way.  Part of this learning process is stumbling through by yourself these various venues to discover a new 'thingamajig' to use in the your trusty backpack.  I wrote a blog post last year on embedding a YouTube video into your blog post which has been well clicked and received.  I am no Craig Daniels by any means so my post is short and I hope simple.  So I thought I would share this tidbit of knowledge with you... when you are doing a Google Map post of a home for sale, town, house, restaurant, etc.  Put that picture on the map for all to see when they click on it.  Refer back to my Google ...

Google Maps - Embed a Picture on Your Map - Part I. Narragansett Beach- Narragansett RI 02882- Extraordinary Dusk.  I have to share this picture I am embedding into Google Maps on my Google maps because it captures the essence of the evening walking along Narragansett Pier in Narragansett RI.  It was a bit past dusk and the juxtaposition of lights, coloring, high tide on Narragansett Beach just drew me in.   Luckily I had my camera with me and I could take the shot. So this is your first step to embed a picture into Google Maps- get a great picture to embed for a location.  This particular shot just had to go somewhere so what better place to share it with the world then in my Google Maps of Narragansett Beach- Narragansett, RI 02882.  Not everyone will know to click on the blue balloon...

Narragansett RI 02882 Short Sales - Narragansett Homes for Sale.  It is the day of spring equinox and along with the blooms of spring come the increase of homes on the market as well as short sales.  With approximately 7,000 households in Narragansett, short sales remain in the minority in Narragansett homes on the market as compared to other RI cities like Warwick or Providence, RI.A Narragansett ‘short sale’ or being ‘under water’ on your home in real estate refers to the ‘shortage’ of monies the lender, mortgage holder, will be shorted when the home is sold because the market value of the home has fallen below the amount the homeowner owes on it.  The home is now worth substantially less than the homeowner paid for the home.  Due to a hardship such as loss of job, divorce, medical pr...

Coastlines are a Changing.  It is the waterfront, ocean front and coastal homes in Southern RI that are feeling the coastline differential after the brutal winter we have had.  I can see even in my home turf along the Narragansett and North Kingstown waterfront, the curves, undulations and indentations along the water edge is changing.  The barriers are there to protect much of the Narragansett Bay property, Coastal Resource ensures that properties maintain their sea walls and barriers.  But this huge tree root system that I have been monitoring in my beach area walks for the past 5 years is now all uncovered.  Two years ago it was among the sea grasses but no longer.  The ocean has left it naked on the shore for all to admire and take pictures of.  Flood insurance comes to mind on look...

Crazy Burger Cafe & Juice Bar- the Coolest Menu to Live For!  Narragansett Rhode Island's food experience right on Boon Street in Narragansett Pier is truly a trip.  Such an eclectic menu of beyond belief dishes to taunt the palate and deliver the taste experience that just doesn't happen with many restaurants any more.  You need to put it on your 'bucket list' of places to eat my friends. Whether you are a vegan or a carnivore, the menu at Crazy Burger is yummy and it has been this way since 1995 when the owner Michael Maxon started weaving the web of food delights for all the hankering patrons in and around Narragansett RI.  Can you tell it's one of my all time favorite restaurants! Anawan Cliffs - Narragansett RI's Gem of a Waterfront Neighborhood-02882.  Anawan Cliffs is an exclusive waterfront and luxury home neighborhood in northern Narragansett RI.  Now talk about breathtaking views from waterfront homes and this is the neighborhood that exemplifies it...from viewing Beavertail Lighthouse across Narragansett Bay on the island of Jamestown to the Atlantic Ocean opening to this wonderful bay... it is truly unique.  Although it was a gated  Narragansett waterfront neighborhood at one time, the gates just remain as a truly symbolic gesture of years ago.  Established from farmland that was bought by a group of people in the 1940's to make a private neighborhood and that is what they did.  Of the 56 lots that were original to this waterfront community only 2 remain ...

Yeow! It's that Orange Sticker Policy on Houses in Waterfront Narragansett RI 02852 Again!  The verdict is in and the University of Rhode Island's Student Senate lawsuit challenging the town of Narragansett's orange sticker policy has been stuck down by a higher court.  Much to the disappointment of all the students who rent off campus in the town of Narragansett and have partying mayhem in their bones.  It's time to be more careful. What was that orange sticker policy you ask? The town of Narragansett police are allowed to place a 10 by 14 inch orange sticker on the front door (thereby branding it) of homes that are accused of being a public nuisance...that is any public get together of 5 or more people that substantially disturbs the quiet environment of a neighborhood by unlawful con...
