Two years ago today we headed out on our five week cross country road trip. It had been put off a few years prior because we got very busy in real estate and then the following year Covid shut everything down. We were happy to finally get on the road when we did and we have many fond memories of family we visited, friends we reconnected with and the many wonderful landscapes that unfolded in front of us as we traveled this vast country. So much to see, and so much we did not see….five weeks was not enough time!!As I went through the first group of photos I took on the road, I focused in on this leaning tower photo. The Springfield Diner Is Doing Well On Baltimore PikeThe Springfield Diner opened its doors in January of this year at 720 Baltimore Pike where Bennigan's used to be.   There are always cars in the parking lot so it seems like this place is doing well. I've only been there for breakfast during the weekend hours and have not been disappointed. Their food is reasonably priced and even though there was a line, it moved rather quickly.  If you are looking for a new breakfast place, make sure you check out the Springfield Diner. Their hours of operation are 6 AM - 1 AM Sunday through Thursday and 24 hours a day Friday and Saturday. Free Trees for Residents in Springfield, Delaware County, PA To Help Meet Township CodeAs a homeowner in Springfield Delaware County PA, it is required under the Township Zoning Code that residents have a tree in their front yard.  To help meet this requirement the township will be distributing free trees in November of this year and in the Spring of next year 2011.  The trees are first being offered to residents who do not have a tree at this time, and then if any are left over the remaining will be given to other residents.  Up to 240 trees will be given out in total.  This is all made possible thanks to a PECO Green Regional Program Grant of $5,000 that was recently awarded to Springfield Township to purchase native trees.  If you or someone you know may benefit from this grant pleas...

Springfield Township PA street trees and residents to benefit from PECO Green Region Grant. In May, PECO awarded $150,000 in PECO Green Region grants to 20 municipalities in the greater Philadelphia area.  These grants have been awarded yearly since 2004 to provide for projects for open space preservation, conservation, and improvements.  PECO works with its parent, Exelon Corp, the Natural Lands Trust, and conservation organizations to review applications and decide grant recipients.
