Today, I read an article telling buyers that they should fire their Real Estate agent if they own a computer. Usually, when I read something like this, my blood pressure would increase. I would get upset and feel like I had to call someone and vent. Instead, I laughed. I thought about all the for-sale owners there were and how many ended up listing their homes with an agent.  Statistics show that 97% of for-sale by owners list their house with an agent. There was a time when I did very well working primarily with for sale by owners.   They did not feel they needed to pay an agent to help them sell a house. Tonight is the first night of Passover and Jewish people all over the World will be sitting down with their families and close friends and having a Seder dinner. What is a Seder, you may ask? It is a meal symbolizing freedom from slavery and bondage from Egypt, and each food has its own meaning. It is a tradition celebrated. The Jewish people left Egypt in haste with no time to make bread; therefore, this is why Matzo is unleavened bread. It is the Story of Exodus and there is a plate on the table that each food/herb has a meaning. You will find the story in the Bible. This is a very condensed version of what a Seder dinner is.    This year with all the turmoil in the Mideast let us hope and pray it will be Peaceful

  What a wonderful tradition in Philadelphia when people smile and dance in the streets . Yes it is a Happy New Year's Day  in Philadelphia Pa . The Mummers are strutting their stuff down the streets of the City of Philadelphia  These bands prepare all year for this day .    Last year it was bitter cold .This year it will be in the sixties but very high winds are predicted .The winds will make it difficult for the fancy and the fancy brigade but nothing will stop these Mummers from strutting their stuff  The Mummers are pure sunshine .   The Mummers compete in four categories .  I recently read a post by Liz and Bill Spear called  Eyes Wide Open . It made me think so I checked and canceled a membership I had that was not bringing me any benefit's . Money that was not well spent and could be put to better use .  When doing so I was told I would be getting a call and email  to see why I was leaving. I would get a personal call to see what it would take to get me to stay  . Well no call or email but I did get an email saying they tried to charge my credit card (which thankfully thanks to Holiday shopping was denied ) would I like to use another credit card  card?  I quickly responded that I had canceled their service .     I was then instructed that they would send me an email with a link .  Yes, this morning we went up 458 feet to the viewing deck under the statue of William Penn at the top of Philadelphia City Hall, the largest municipal building in this country. The most stomach curdling part was the ride up in the elevator from the 7th floor. The door is glass, so you can see yourself hurtling skyward and passing the inside of the giant clock face which looks out over the city. I had only done this once before, and the inside of the clock still makes an impression.   This post is for cat lovers and just for fun . Those who read my posts know I own a Siamese cat named Cleo  I have discovered YouTube videos for cats . YouTube also has  video games for cats . I put the videos on when I leave the house or when I am trying to get work done on the computer and Cleo is being annoying .  I also thought it might be helpful to Endre Barath, Jr.  after reading his post about his cat knocking over the Christmas Tree he purchased for his wife Diane . Now keep in mind you need a TV that can not be knocked over. For all you creative types out there, we are not talking your average Hallmark pretty gingerbread house, but one made by actual architects and architecture students that recreate famous Pennsylvania buildings such as Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater (yes, the blue is falling water). Here is John Haviland's Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia by Drexel University students.  Last year, University of Pennsylvania students recreated Frank Furness’ Fisher Fine Arts Library in gingerbread. All these pieces of art came from suggestions made in a post byPennsylvania Historic Preservation

  I am grateful for my cat Cleo . As many of you who read my posts know how much I adore her  When I wake up in the morning she is either curled up at my feet or staring at me to get up She gladly follows me to the kitchen and patiently waits as as I make my coffee. As the coffee brews I get her bowl and pick one of her favorite flavors of Meow Mix wet food cups .  If I work from home she curls herself up next to me and the computer . If I go to the office I put on YouTube TV and she sits in front of the TV set and waits for it it to come on .   Walmart gave me great customer service. It took some doing but I received more then I bargained for. I am grateful for my 65" Sharp 4K smart TV. Last year my son-in-law, John, and my daughter, Johanna, purchased a 55'' Sharp 4K Smart TV for me on Thanksgiving. They knew how much I wanted that TV.  They love to shop after dinner at the big sale at Walmart - the Black Friday sale that now has been moved up to Thanksgiving night at 6pm. They have everything down to a science. Four of them go - my oldest grandson Ryan (17) and my oldest granddaughter Alexis (15) and John and Johanna.   Today was the first snow of the season . I had to be in the office early this morning . A tech was scheduled to come in a put a program on my laptop . It was questionable when the snow would start .The tech had my laptop done quickly. We were talking and he was concerned  about  picking  up his children if there was an early dismissal . There were many schools closing early      I left the office about 10:45 AM and the fist snow flakes started falling . I took major highways as the minutes went by the heavier the snow flakes were .  Today I have been thinking about what I am grateful for. There are so many things to be thankful for .Speaking to so many people in the last several weeks I must say one  of the things was my childhood .  Growing up in a time where your social life was really social . You played with other children not computers , Xboxes or iPpads or IPhones .  I lived in the city we played in the driveways after school and after dinner . We played ball , hopscotch and hoola hoops . We sang songs on the corners went to dances . Life was much more simple then it is today .    If our friends died it was because they fought in the Vietnam War  Not from an overdose of opioid .  I am grateful for my Keurig coffee maker . I am sure there are much bigger and better coffee makers on the market but I am grateful for this little coffee maker. One morning in the end of Sept. I woke up to a broken coffee maker . Cold water came pouring out . I am not a happy camper without my cup of coffee .   Today as I drove home I had to stop and take a few pictures to share . The  trees were just so beautiful .Fall is now in full bloom and the colors of Fall are everywhere . When I look at these colors I am in awe .  Fall is my favorite time of year . The weather is  perfect. A sweater or light jacket is all you need .  I am thankful for all the beauty around me .
