Let's talk about Delaire Landing Gated Waterfront Community. Summer is here and many of the residents are enjoying the two pools with beautiful views of the Delaware River. It never ceases to amaze when the giant ships pass by as the residents are enjoying the sunshine or swimming in the pool. Monday and Friday many enjoy water aerobics in the lap pool. The time is between 1 PM and 2 PM and believe me, they get quite a workout to the music.  The fourth of July was fantastic. Entry to the development was limited as there was an amazing firework show that everyone could enjoy at the deck and even from many areas outside of their condos and apartments. Let's talk about finding some bargains in the rising economy. Forget about finding a good price on gas as the prices are going up daily. Delaire Landing is a Gated Waterfront Community located in the Torresdale section of NE Philadelphia. There are eight different condo sections plus an apartment community inside. Shared by all of the residents is a clubhouse with a small gym and a free library a meeting room and many activities. There are two pools overlooking the Delaware River. One is heated the other is a lap pool there are chairs and tables with umbrellas beautiful potted plants add to the tropical decor in the warm weather. With the rising costs of gas, the warm summer season makes living here even more desirable. I must admit this week I really did not get much shopping done. I went to dinner with a friend and I had some fried calamari & fried shrimp it was delicious when I ate it, but I woke up in the middle of the night sick as a dog. I heard of people getting food poisoning before but It had never happened to me. It took me quite a few days to feel myself again. Fried food not going to be on my menu again.  I was glad that I had purchased soup at Dollar Tree it was Campbells Kitchen Classics - I hope they have more it was perfect and delicious $1.25 also Arizona green ice tea was $1.25, and they also have a variety of canned goods and salad dressings if you get lucky you may even find Annie's.  I am so excited my bathing suits fit me. Maybe there is a little round bulge around the belly but with some swimming, I should be able to get rid of some of that. It just goes to show when you buy good quality bathing suits they last. Let's Talk about Rivers Bend a condominium community in the Torresdale section of NE Philadelphia. This is a pet-friendly condo community. These are what some people would call twin quads with a contemporary flair. In Philadelphia, it was difficult to find deals this week, but thanks to friends I managed to find some. My friend Jessie told me about Zips the cleaners in the area that will wash comforters for $25 and put them in plastic and her's came out so fluffy and new so off I went. I spoke with the owner as another friend insisted they were going to dry clean it. He assured me they washed it and smiled, telling me to come back next Thursday. He also told me most of the labels say do not dry clean. I am thrilled to have found this service. Let's talk about Philadelphia Steals & Deals this week. I did find much and I did find some disappointments. By that I mean advertisements that were not fulfilled. When I reached the stores the promised ads were not in. The answer I received was the order never arrived. It was not just for one item but for several. I said that gas was expensive and drove there for these advertised specials. They understood  apologized no rain checks. I was annoyed and left . It was not the day the ad started either. Went to my local store, picked up the chicken they advertised for almost the same price. Once one of the best kept secrets in the city of Philadelphia is now well known. There are different styles of condos to meet different needs and tastes. I am sure everyone heard of Philadelphia's mask mandate. The stores all had signs that said mask must be worn. To be honest half the people did not wear them. The other half  kind of wore them others proudly wore their masks. Let me tell you it was so confusing, especially where I live on the boarder of Philly and Bucks County . You can go to one store and be in Philadelphia and go a few miles and be in Bensalem  no masks are required with a sigh of relief.Thankfully the mask mandate is lifted. It was all so confusing. My one friend said they should call the police if they do not have a mask on. Right the police will come and arrest them for not wearing a mask. Let's talk about Delaire Landing Condo community . Delaire had their first Easter Egg Hunt for the children and it was a huge success. Things are  starting to get back to normal. The gate is fixed and once again we are a gated community. Hard to believe it is April and the cold Winter is behind us. Beautiful flowers are starting to bloom Spring is in the air. Four Seasons Land Scaping is sprucing everything up and with new mulch. We are so lucky to have them here at Delaire Landing. The trees have all been cut back , many have been removed that were sick and diseased.  Trees that were along the river have been removed and now there is a much better view of the water.
