Saturday was Nazareth Day in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.  I, along with a couple of other agents from the office, Susan Ringer and MaryEllen Erdie, had a table at this event in the town square.  We attracted a lot of traffic to our table from the downtown area.  We were located near the trolley stop and close to the Nazareth Boro Park.  And, the weather was perfect.    In the circle, we had music playing all day to entertain us and plenty of food.  The strawberry shortcake sold at one of the tables tasted great with the fresh strawberries.  MMmmmmmm.  I believe I gained a couple of pounds that day.  We couldn't ask for more.   Here is Main Street in downtown Nazareth, leading up to the town square.  Our Keller Williams table is at the right.   Here I am at our Keller Williams table at the...

Last evening, the Lehigh Valley Horse Council sponsored an Introduction to Polo demonstration at Edgewood Valley Farm just outside of Nazareth, PA.   The meeting started out with the guest speaker, Bob Brosious of the Tinicum Park Polo Club, explaining the game.  I finally know what a chukker is.   Did you know that the polo pony comes from Argentina?  Polo ponies are a Quarter Horse and a Thoroughbred cross.  Thoroughbred's are used more now in the high level competitions than the crosses because they found that the Thoroughbreds are faster.   After the explanation, the speaker and a partner of his, hopped on their polo ponies to demonstrate the game.  Wow, that looked like fun.   Once the demonstration was over, attendees were allowed to try their hand at the game.  Many participate...

It's almost time for Nazareth Days in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.    What are Nazareth Days?    Nazareth Days are lots of fun!!   This year, Nazareth Days start July 16th and end July 18th.    On Thursday, the local shops and businesses have sidewalk sales.  You can find some really great bargains here.    On Friday, in addition to the sidewalk sales, some of the businesses offer free popcorn and pretzels, ice cream for 10 cents a scoop (WOW!), and hot dogs for a super low price.  I have not seen these prices since I was  little girl.  (Oh, oh!!  I'm showing my age.)  Friday evening is the block party.  The streets downtown are closed off for food, dancing and entertainment.  Lots of fun!   But, wait, there's more!   Saturday is the final day of the sidewalk sale.  In addition to the sale...

Saturday, a craft sale was held on the lawn of the Whitfield House and Museum in Nazareth, PA.   It was a gorgeous morning and my husband and I walked around to see.  There were many tables set up and many crafts.   Some were selling jewelry, art work, woodwork, home made sauces and jellies and baked goods.  At one table, a Native American was selling hand made Native American Flutes and drums.  He even played some of them.  They have such a mellow sound.  At another table, a vendor was selling handmade wooden plaques which were in 3D.  I have never seen such artwork and it was beautiful.  I almost bought one.  (A horse head, of course.  What else?)   In addition to the crafts, food was available on the premises, such as hot dogs, home made fudge (mmmmm), and even the ice cream truck ...

Rios Brazilian Steakhouse is located in the center of Nazareth, PA.  Everytime you go by the restaurant it smells sooooo good.  This weekend, my husband and I decided to finally try it.   Here is our experience:   When we were seated at a table, the waiter took our drink order.  (All the employees happen to be Brazilian.)  I ordered a "Brazilian Lover".  I'm game for trying anything once.  We were then informed how you were served.    You served yourself at the salad bar.  It had a huge assortment, hot and cold.  There were a variety of salads (green, beet salad, Brazilian potato, etc.) along with rice, baked Ziti, chicken lasagna, etc.  I sampled a little bit of the foods I have never had before.   Once you are seated after the salad bar, waiters come around to each table, with assor...

A long awaited store opening in Nazareth, PA is finally opening it's doors to the public.  The store is Tractor Supply.   To many of us, it has seemed like forever as we watched the building go up, awaiting the moment to see the sign "OPEN".   I was one of the privelidged few community members that received an invitation to preview the store this past Friday evening.  I managed to squeeze in time in my busy schedule to attend the preview.    As I walked into the store, I was greeted by some of the employees.  I walked around the store to see what they had to offer.  This was my first time inside a "Tractor Supply" store, so I checked it out.    They offer many items geared towards a farming and agricultural community.  There was a section for clothing and boots, feeds and supplies for...

Wednesday was Earth Day.  It was also a sad day for Nazareth area residents.   It was a day where Nazareth residents said good-bye to an old friend.  Who was this old friend?  The old friend and long time resident of Nazareth was a tree in the center of Nazareth.  It's home was in the circle for over 100 years.    The tree had shaded many couples sitting under it and witnessed first kisses.  The evidence was in it's trunk, where many initials were carved over the years.    The borough council had decided at it's last meeting that the tree was diseased, infected with insects and slowly dying, therefore, presenting a public hazard if it were to fall.     It was cut down Wednesday afternoon in front of many Nazareth witnesses, who also took pieces of it as a remembrance of an old friend....

Ahhhhhhhh!  I can see and hear spring coming!   It was a gorgeous sunny day in Nazareth, PA today.  So, for my lunch break, I decided to take a walk around town and enjoy the sunshine.  It was still chilly, so I had to wear my winter jacket, but I couldn't resist the sunshine.   As I was strolling through town, I noticed that the lawns were starting to turn green.  Looking up at the trees, some of the trees have set buds already and are ready to bloom as soon as it gets warm enough.   As I walked down the residential section of Nazareth, I noticed some color in front of the houses.  The flowers were popping their heads through the ground, getting ready to bloom.    Then, walking down one of the quiet neighborhoods, I heard the birds singing their songs.  Plus, the squirrels were runni...
