Peters Township's real estate sales for February and March were exactly half of those month's totals in 2008, so it's no surprise that its sales for the first quarter of 2009 (35 homes) were down from last year's 1st quarter (51).  Here's the list of 12 Peters Township's homes that sold this March: Address                           List Price  Sold Price 161 Scenic Ridge Drive 574,900 570,000 112 Inverness Drive 369,900 350,000 100 Brave Run 352,900 340,000 133 Fawn Valley Drive 339,900 335,000 183 Delaware Trail 319,000 319,000 124 Froebe Road 319,000 315,000 915 Old Washington Road 259,900 250,000 205 Royalbrooke Drive 249,900 240,000 221 Clubview Drive 249,900 237,500 112 Oakwood Road 212,900 199,900 1022 Old Washington Road 139,900 139,900 210 Old Oak Road 65,000 51,000  Related Pos...

Here's a sample of restaurant reviews for Bado's Cucina, located at 3825 Washington Road (Route 19) in Peter's Township: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - "If you grew up eating in a Pittsburgh Italian family, you can close your eyes and you will smell some of your grandmother's kitchen aromas coming from the Bado's Cucina oven. Italian or not, this is food anyone could love." Pittsburgh Magazine - "If you're looking for a sign of the culinary times, you could do no better than Bado's Cucina, where the idea of small plates and sharing food is the norm.  Bado's Cucina is small (30 seats), cozy, comfortable, the kind of place seen throughout Europe, where people crowd together and talk to one another." Pittsburgh City Paper - "Bado's menu is a focused exploration of authentic Italian cuisine: hom...

The Pittsburgh Business Times published a review of the Capstone Grill, which is located across from Donaldson's Crossroads on Route 19 in Peters Township: "The focus here is fresh seafood, with worthwhile beef and chicken options for land lovers. Nine fresh varieties of fish are offered daily, available just as diners like them. Experiment with the long list of custom choices - everything from orange mandarin sauce, to almond-crusted (with banana butter), to Thai chili BBQ, or simply chargrilled. The list of fish is fairly international, including Alaskan halibut, Canadian salmon, South American tilapia and Pacific swordfish."  Read the entire Pittsburgh Business Times article. There are tons of websites on the Internet that offer consumers so-called "free" credit reports but here is the reality - most of them aren't FREE! If you are on one of those websites and they ask for your credit card, that should be raise a "red flag" with you. If you provide a credit card, what you are doing is requesting a credit fraud "subscription". That means you are signing up for a paid monthly service that monitors your credit in the event of identity theft and other melicous threats to your credit worthiness. If you are thinking about buying Pittsburgh real estate and you need to know what your credit report looks like, there are other "no cost" options to secure your history of your credit. If you happen to be a one of those "snowbirds" who fly South for the warmer climates and leave your Pittsburgh home vacant for weeks possibly months at a time, here are a few timely suggestions to help prevent a disaster while you're away. Avoid Frozen Pipes in Your Pittsburgh Home Frozen water in pipes can cause water pressure buildup between the ice blockage and the closed faucet at the end of a pipe. If situation occurs pipes will burst at their weakest point. Areas most vulnerable include pipes in attics, crawl spaces and outside walls. These pipes are vulnerable to freezing ...

Ok...I know this topic has generated more blog post than "Carter has Liver Pills" but if more real estate agents would continue to pound the bloggosphere, maybe - just maybe the national media would stop and pay attention to the "experts in the streets" and not the "talking heads" from the financial world.
