I handle rental transactions as part of my practice and get asked a lot of Landlord/Tenant questions. A popular concern is on the handling of the tenant security deposit.            New water main on Rodmor Road in Haverford Township  As part of its continuing infrastructure improvement program, Aqua Pennsylvania will install a new water main on Rodmor Road between Steel Road and Dill Road in Haverford Township.  The project is scheduled to begin next week. Workers will install 834 feet of 8-inch ductile iron main, replacing the existing 6-inch cast iron main. The main installation, individual service connections and paving restoration are expected to be completed this September.  Work will be done 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The roadway will be closed in the area of construction. Access will be provided for mail, emergency and trash service. Darby Road in Haverford Township to be closed for paving Darby Road between College Avenue and Ardmore Road in Haverford Township will be closed for paving beginning Wednesday, June 23. The work is expected to be completed by September 1. During the work, Darby Road through traffic will be detoured over College Avenue, Haverford Road and Ardmore Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. First Time Buyers who have a signed agreement of sale dated by April 30, 2010 and are to settle by June 30th just got that deadline extended by three months; voted yesterday by the Senate 60-37. This extension applies only to buyers who were under contract by April 30th. Senator Harry Reid (D-Nevada) was the sponsor of this amendment which will help in seriously depressed housing markets like the one in his state's Las Vegas area. The amendment is strongly supported by the National Association of Realtors. Some critics are saying some people will see this as an opportunity to cheat on their taxes by backdating their paperwork. This extension should ease the hugh volume of buyers and sellers that are trying to secure a settlement date to be eligible for their tax credit. 06/17/2010

               Overnight work to lay pipe under Eagle Road As part of the ongoing cleanup of the Havertown PCP Superfund Site, EPA will lay pipe under Eagle Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 8, 9 and 10, from the parking lot of the former Philadelphia Gum Company to the EPA’s groundwater treatment facility.      The work will be done overnight because of traffic and safety issues. Eagle Road will temporarily be reduced to one lane of traffic and/or a change in the traffic pattern. There will be flaggers at the site during the work to direct traffic. The road will be fully open during the day.    This work is the last phase of an ongoing construction project at the Havertown PCP Superfund Site. The Sad Truth Today’s pets are extremely domesticated. They are completely dependant on us for their survival. And we depend on them for companionship, unconditional love and acceptance. We value them as a member of the family and we trust them to act appropriately around our loved ones. But the sad truth is that without us, they are helpless.
