Geo W. Childs State Park is located off Silver Lake Road and Park Road in Dingmans Ferry.  It is free to the public, and is a marvel to behold!  This delightful Pocono property was donated in the early 1900's by the widow of George W. Childs, with the condition that there always be public access. The park is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This is, by far, one of my favorite spots in Pike County.  The walking path is fairly easy with some moderate challenges. It has served the education community for over 30 years, with approximately 24,000 visitors annually! They host many programs, including bird watching, guided hiking expeditions, canoe trips, retreats, and your kids can even fulfill their boy or girlscout badges!
