When you are on your way into PA, you can't miss it. Signs advertising fireworks because they are available for sale legally in PA. As far as the usage of fireworks, the where, when, why and how's of purchasing and setting off fireworks, that is a different story. That story, however, is very well explained by the experts at Phantom Fireworks in Delaware Water Gap, PA, located off Exit 310 as soon as you come into PA and just past the Welcome Center. Once inside, do not expect to run amok, grab everything in site, pay and go. Oh no, no, no. When you come in there are about 5 sets of computers where you will fork over your ID, be given permit paperwork to fill out and then, once cleared for certain items (about 2 days, non-aerial items do not have a wait period), then you can bring ...

As you travel west-bound on Route 80 from New Jersey into Delaware Water Gap, PA, there are plans to make the EZ Pass lanes a little easier for you to get through! The 3 left lanes as you approach the toll plaza will be upgraded to high speed lanes! Which means, you don't have to stop and wait for the gate to open and close after each car goes through.  Special equipment will be installed to detect EZ Passes at higher rates of speed.  It could even be in place by Memorial Day weekend of 2010, which is great news! Being such a vacation area, the first "unofficial" weekend of the summer attracts many people to the Pocono Mountains. Having high speed lanes on the toll plaza for EZ Pass holders will make that trip a little easier!  If you'd like to take a look at the plans or attend the ope...

ForbesTraveler.com is a great website to check out when you're looking for traveling ideas.  One of thier lists is "America's 25 Most Visited Tourist Sites".  Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, right here in the Poconos, is number 16 on that list, with 4.8 million visitors a year.  It is a beautiful area with a lot of history.  For 40 miles the Middle Delaware River passes between low forested mountains with barely a house in sight. Then the river cuts through the mountain ridge to form the famed "Water Gap." Exiting the park, the river will run 200 miles more to Delaware Bay and the Atlantic Ocean at Wilmington, Delaware.  Additionally, the Appalachian Trail runs right through there as well. When you're visiting the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, don't forget to...
