 Today was the first day  I venture shopping for fruit veggies and flowers in a year. I had just re-potted a few of my orchids and to my surprise, the roots were so healthy and the plants were very happy with the repotting. It was a beautiful day.  I decided to travel to Produce Junction in Bensalem Pa where I had purchased my orchids before. They always have a great selection of flowers and plants also nuts, fruits, and veggies, and amazing prices - also eggs   When I parked there were flowers galore all over outside for outdoor planting. Living in a condo I did not stop to admire as I was on a mission. I was looking for Orchids.   Inside there was an array of gorgeous bunches of flowers. They were breathtaking and so colorful.  Thinking back on my first home purchase. I was not a Realtor. My close friend was going through a divorce. She was going to sell her cute row house close to both our parents. In 1973, I was married with a gorgeous two-year-old daughter, Johanna. The house was $21,000; both our parents helped us with $1,000 each, and we had some money saved. My husband worked at an attorney's office that took care of everything.  Six years later, there was now a nine-month-old brother, Eric, and we decided to move.    At the Shagun Palace on Monday, I had a delightful Active Rain Meet-up with Gita Bantwal in Bensalem Pa  We ate at an Indian Buffet Restaurant. Gita and I have talked on the phone many times but have never met in person. Sampling many different dishes of flavorful foods Gita was very surprised that I liked the spicy dishes. I told her of the time I had eaten at an Indian Restaurant in Center City with Praful Thakkar. We laughed  and enjoyed our time together   I had a video of Cleo my Siamese cat on my phone that I could not figure out how to get on to YouTube.   Stopped at Produce Junction in Bensalem Pa to buy some veggies to make corn beef and cabbage. When I walked in there were carrots and celery which I like to add. Picked up some baby red potatoes when I spotted this woman with an unusually beautiful plant. I was so taken with the color. We started a conversation I asked her what it was and how to take care of it. There was a bit of a language barrier but we did communicate quite well.  She guided me to where the plants were the sign read bromeliad. No light she said. Flower in middle put water every few months. Sometimes bring in the bathroom when you take shower. I picked one up and talked to it.  Last Monday I received sad news about an appraiser I have known since the first day I started Real Estate.  He had passed away  A short man with a big heart Irving Geller everyone called him Irv Geller    When I started Real Estate it was in a small Appraisal office that also did Real Estate sales. Irv Geller would come in the speak to Jack Lentz my Broker to talk about appraisals. They would get into heated agreements. I would listen to them and learn. One would say what is the difference I gave value all they had to do was repairs. The other would bellow it wasn't worth what they sold it for I cut the value no repairs.   There are wonderful days in November. The one that I am the most  grateful for is the day I get to share dinner with my family. .It is not just any dinner . This day is Thanksgiving  It is a dinner of traditional American food . Some of the food is prepared for days in advance  The aromas on Thanksgiving day fill the house with wonderful delightful smells . There is a turkey with stuffing that has been cooking for hours .. Sweet potato pie with marshmallows fill the air . There are buttered carrots ,  corn  , whipped mashed buttery potatoes , all .cooking on the stove   Everyone is talking and you can hear the football game on the television set .  I am thankful for AMC $5 Tuesday movies .  I enjoy going to the movies but don't always make the time . Knowing that on Tuesday I can see any movie I want for $5.00 motivates me to make the time .  One of my friends said you have to be a senior to go on Tuesday to see a $5 movie . I assured her she was wrong . It is $5.00 for everyone to see first run movies . All you need is an AMC movie card which is free .   There may be a day where I need to relax by myself . There be a Tuesday afternoon where my friends and I have lunch and get to see a movie that would have cost us twice as much any-other day of the week .  My favorite movie theater has the  reclining seats . They has five pounds of bananas for  two  dollar  .While I was there I also picked up these beautiful sunflowers .I did cut the stems they were much longer then this  They were only three dollars and fifty cents ..  Yesterday I was inspired to by Ron and Alexandra Seigel  to buy Sunflowers . I stopped at my local Produce Junction to buy some fresh vegetables and fruit . They also have an array of beautiful flowers . My ninety year old neighbor has been ill so I also picked up a bouquet of flowers for them also . Flowers always make you feel better .
