Ashland will commemorate the historic Ashland Boys' Association (A.B.A.) Parade known as the Mardi Gras of the anthracite coal region. The parade route per tradition will be along Centre and Walnut streets and the parade committee invites entries from outside the borough. The parade will be the same motorcade format as last year with fire trucks, floats and old cars. The parade size will be nothing bigger than a fire truck housing or block party parade. Parade entries will have the ABA maroon and white colors, American flags or 'Welcome Home ABA' signs. Anyone from Schuylkill County or beyond can volunteer a float, antique vehicles or fire trucks."
