Every once in a while I catch a trivia section on a local Philadelphia radio station where a story may be read from a local paper from years ago or details given of something that was aired on the radio years ago. Recently I found out that Bill Haley of Bill Haley and His Comets had a connection to Delaware County.I looked Bill Haley up on Wikipedia and sure enough there were two ways he was connected to Delaware County.First, when he was seven years old his parents moved to Boothwyn, Bethel Township where he spent his early years until he left home as a teenager to go on the road to find himself. If you are buying a home with a  mortgage the bank will want an appraisal carried out. The buyer pays for this and since the 2008 housing crash these are arranged through a third party management company that finds the appraiser and orders the appraisal so that the appraisal is unbiased and independent.It is usually ordered after the buyer and seller have signed an agreement of sale and the buyer has finalized applying for a mortgage. Before I was a Realtor® I knew nothing about radon, but now thanks to my profession I have become educated on its existence and the harm it can cause to homeowners who are not aware. That is why it is so important for buyers to get a radon inspection when they are in the process of buying a new home. This is my basic understanding of radon. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas that rises up out of the earth from uranium. Some areas have higher concentrations of this release of gas then other areas. Roughly a week ago, I started to received an accelerated amount of spam phone calls to my cell phone, sometimes 15-20 per day. My cell number must be getting sold over and over since the spam calls are coming from many different states and different numbers in repeat states. There are even calls that are off by one number from my cell number. Many times these calls come around dinner time or sometimes when I happen to leave my phone in another room and then I have to quickly get to the phone, just in case it is an important call and not spam.In our line of work we rely on working with new people so answering a phone call is important for new business. The Main Line outside Philadelphia lies within the boundaries of three counties, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester County. Each county is much larger than just the Main Line parts, so the market reports refer to the actual county, not just the Main Line area.
