Last Friday afternoon was spent in the delightful company of ActiveRain colleague Melinda "Mel" Peterson (The Naked Blogger) at Jake's Grill in Downtown Portland Oregon. It had been a little over 8 months since I met Melinda at an ActiveRain meet-up last Sept.  She was driving through town on Friday and it was a pleasure to have lunch with her during her pit stop! My thinking was that we'd go to the Western Culinary School, which offers a delightful 5-course lunch.  But, who knew they stopped lunch service so early?!?  Next thought was Jake's Grill.  The entrance to Jake's Grill on SW 10th St. is the original lobby entrance of the Governor's Hotel.  Over the years, the entrance of the Governor's Hotel moved to SW 11th, and Jake's Grill has established themselves as a local classic, insi...

SE Portland, OR Condos -- What's Trending Year in Review These graphs show the activity and trends of condo units in the SE Portland (Area 143) market. Dates:  February 2009 through January 2010 Source: RMLS* As you can see -- the SE Portland Condo Market was the WILD RIDE!  Listing up, listings down . . . and Dec. '09 was brutal in pricing with nearly 25% reduction in Average SOLD Price !  The AVERAGE SALES price of a condo @ $200,000.  The high-end condo unit in the SE Portland market selling @ $900,000, on average.
